Main Street USA |
Mainstreet USA is the entrance to the park. You enter, cross under the train station and you have arrived at the Magic Kingdom. The street sets up the long shot of the castle and just becons you forward. You can choose to jumped on a steam driven locamotive for a grand circle tour of the park, or maybe a horsedrawn streetcar to just take in the sites. Or maybe on of those new fangled horseless carriages. Main Street consists of several transportation options as well as stores, dining locations, and of course great vistas. Main Street is also where many guests line up for the fireworks and parades throughout the day.

Geek's Thoughts & Suggestions |
A fun way to get down the street is by one of the Main Street vehicles. You can usually walk it faster, but its much more fun to ride. Main Street also offers a very good, but crowded spot to watch the parades. If your can get a curb seat for the parade it is the "classic" way to experience a Disney parade (and young kids love it). Also along Main Street you will find several entertainment groups throughout the day to watch. For the Wishes Fireworks show we highly recommend finding a spot on Main Street to view it. We like to be about half way down the block. It allows for a great shot. If you want to watch a parade from Main Street(and want a good seat) you will probably have to show up at least an hour before it (except for the late Spectro Magic Parade). If you don't mind standing a row or two back there is no need to show up that early. A really good spot to see the parades is from up on the train station, but this means a very long wait for the parade. If your looking for a Magic Kingdom souvenir, odds are you will find it on Main Street, to avoid the shopping rush do not wait until the end of the day to find that souvenir you want because most of the other 50,000 people at the park will wait until the same time to get theirs. Take some time during the heat of the day to enjoy the airconditioning and shop. If your staying at a Disney Resort you can have all purchases sent to your resort for FREE! Its a good service, but take a day or two to get your stuff.
