Liberty Square |
Liberty Square is a unique land in the realm of Disney theme parks. No other park currently has a Liberty Square. The most unique attraction here is the Hall of Presidents. For the 1964 World's Fair Walt had wanted to have a similiar attraction, but it was not fesible in the time, so just Lincoln was created for the show Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. With the opening of Walt Disney World, Walt's attraction was finally came off the drawing boards. The Hall of Presidents is part history exhibit, part history lesson, and part inspiration. The show features a roll call of all the presidents starting with George Washington and going up to George W. Bush, our current president. Also in Liberty Sqaure is the only attraction that shows up in the four current Magic Kingdom type parks (Anaheim, Orlando, Paris, and Tokyo) and is located in a different land in each. The attraction is the Haunted Mansion. Located in New Orleans Sqaure at Disneyland. Frontierland in Paris. Fantasyland in Tokyo. Liberty Square is also home of the Riverboat station where you can board a vessel for a scenic tour around Tom Sawyer Island. The Diamond Horseshoe is located within Liberty Sqaure on the Western edge. Here you can catch Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree.

Geek's Thoughts & Suggestions |
Liberty Square houses one of my favorite Disney Attractions, The Hall Of Presidents. I think this show is really interesting for several reasons. First off it is a mini-history lesson coupled with some great audioanimatronic figures. The presidents for the most part look almost real. It is really eerie how they move and fidget on stage. Most younger children really do not care for this show though, but it is a definite must see. The LazyGeek and his followers confirm this is one of the best locations to take a nap, he rates the seats as being among the most comfortable on-site. If you wish to escape heat or rain and want to see a great show the Hall Of Presidents is your place to go. The show is a rather large theater. Liberty Square also offers a less crowded place to find a spot for the parades. In 2003 Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree replaced the Diamond Horseshoe Revue (which had run from the parks opening in 1971 for the most part). This show is geared toward the younger set. It includes appearances by several characters and lots of dancing and picture opportunities for parents. I think its an OK show, but I really miss the original. I did not care for the Woody's Roundup at the Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland and I don't like this character show at WDW. I really wish the theaters would stick to more classic entertainment. Disneyland went to Billy Hill and the Hillbillies which are great.
