Disney Springs - West Side

Note: Disney Springs is still under construction and stores, dining, and entertainment are still in flux. As details emerge I will continue to update these pages.

The West Side is the far strip of the area extending from the Landing and Town Center out to the Cirque du Soleil area.

It also includes DisneyQuest which is Disney virtual theme park. There are several floors of high tech toys to play with. If you are on a Disney vacation package admission is usually included, so stop by and check it out. We ended up spending several evenings there. Note Disney Quest is scheduled to close in 2016 to make way for the NBA Experience.

Cirque du Soleil is the other unique experience at the West Side.

The Geek's Suggestions

I went to see the Cirque du Soleil, La Nouba for the first time in December 2007. Here are my first impressions from that trip report: Overall I enjoyed the show, but I still thought it was expensive. The seats we had were about $85 each, that's almost a dollar a minute, its about a 90 minute show. I thought it moved along and had some great performers. I was not a big fan of the music, but I guess it worked. The theater itself was impressive. We were show center but high (about 5 rows from the back I think). Looking around it looked like the view would be good from any of the seats. On first impression the area did not seem that large but when you think of the number of people and size of the stage area it is a large place. The equipment that would come in for each performance whether it was from below, above, or the side was great to watch, from a technical perspective. I wish they would allow for some photography inside, maybe at the beginning or end I do not see what that would hurt.. but they had a strictly enforced no photograph/video rule once inside.
