Dining at Disney's Animal Kingdom

In 2007 Animal Kingdom opened it first table service location inside the park with the Yak and Yeti. There is a Rain Forest café located at the entrance to the park, so we will include it here. Animal Kingdom has amongst the best counter service food at the Disney parks. They have a McDs, a Pizza/Italian Place, and a BBQ Location. Throw in the regular assortment of smaller offerings and its a good selection.

The Geek's Choices

We spend quite a bit of time at the Animal Kingdom so have eaten at most of the dining choices. Most of the time we end up at the Fast Food locations. Some in our group enjoy the BBQ at Flame Tree while others the Hot Dogs in Dinoland or a pizza from Pizzafari. We also used to enjoy the Tusker House when it was counter service. In 2007 it was converted to a Buffet.

The Rain Forest Café at the entrance to the park has one of the largest menus you will find at WDW. They offer pretty much anything under the sun. The dining room itself is extremely large and incredibly themed. One complaint we did have is that it can be incredibly loud. Also note that its really busy, especially around lunch and diner time. So if you do not have a priority seating time, be prepared to wait a long long time… You can eat at the Rain Forest without going into the park, so no admission is required.
