Adventureland |
Adventureland is home of one of Disney's best attractions in recent years. The Indiana Jones Adventure(Indy for short) encompass almost all that is good in a Disney theme park attraction and what sets it miles ahead of other parks. The first thing you will notice about Indy is the queue (Disneyspeek for line). If there is absolutely no line at all it will take you almost 5 minutes just to walk from the entrance point to the vehicles. This is because the building is actually "outside the berm", meaning that it is outside the original Disney boundary of the Disneyland RR. The other great thing about Indy is the story. From the moment you enter the queue you have entered the story and are transported to the time and environment of the Indiana Jones Adventures. In addition to this incredible themeing Disney has added one of its most sophisticated ride systems to date (they use the same system for Dinosaur at the Animal Kingdom in WDW). Disney describes the ride as a high speed off road adventure. There description is not that far off either. For a first time visitor it is a really wild ride. Note: the mistake most riders make is they tense up on the ride (yeah I know this is easy to say than do), but you have to relax and "go with the flow". Also I want to let all you non-thrill ride people that this is a very good attraction, and if you are free from health problems and meet the height requirement you should give it a try (The geek will not ride roller coasters of any size or shape, not even the Go-Coaster in Toontown, but he loves Indy). Indy now has FastPass which makes the line seem a little longer for Standby visitors. Also located in adventureland are several classic Disney attractions that you do not want to miss (the Jungle Cruise and the Enchanted Tiki Room).

Geek's Suggestions |
If you want to ride Indy the line is pretty
much constant all day long. It sometimes swells and then goes down
a little. The best times I have found to go on are really late at
night or right after it comes back online after being down. With
FastPass though this doesn't seem to work as well. Your best bet
is to get a FastPass. |
