Trip Log:
We arrived at MCO at 6:10am... then headed out to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, our resort for the next
5 days. We were lucky and got into a room right away.
Stopped by Mara around 8am to grab some breakfast and
then off to Animal Kingdom. Rented an ECV for one member
of our party(78F), which managed to be a fairly easy
process. Headed out to see the Lion King Celebration
first thing. After the show headed out and grabbed a
fastpass for the safari. Went through the trail to see
the gorillas and learned that when its in the lower
80s at 10am they don't move much.. next headed out to
Conservation station. Came back and road the safari.
Afterwards moved out to Dinoland to grab lunch. After
lunch back to the resort for a quick nap.
After the nap it was back out to the parks, this time
EPCOT. Headed for the Land first. Road the boat ride
and then grabbed dinner at the food court, the other
members of my group headed for China to grab a quick
bite. Then we did a tour of the World Showcase, stopping
to see the American Adventure, then completed our loop
and ended up watching Illumninations. Then back to the
bus and to the Lodge to call it quits.
Thoughts & Observations:
- We arrived on a sunny and already humid Thursday morning. The
towncar was there to pick us up as usually right on time. Our
bags were 3 of the first 10 off the plane and we were out and
to Disney within 45 minutes of Landing, it was great.
- Side Note: We thought the flight might have some open seats,
with the current events and all, the war started the night we
left, I had to find a bar in LAX to watch the news... anyways,
my point is that the flight was full, maybe 2 empty seats in the
entire plane.
- Speaking of the plane we had a American Airlines, 757, which
was miserable for the flight... the plane seemed old and was uncomfortable.
- We were able to check in right away, which was great...
- We noticed a definite increase in Disney secturity both obvious
and visible and not so noticable and only geeks might notice.
It was reassuring to see them take these measures, although some
may be a little over the top...
- The permenant bag check areas will be great once they are done,
most have fans and lighting, which will definelty speed up the
process and make it more comfortable... how I wish Disneyland
would do this...
- I did notice if your in an ECV CMs and even guests seem a little
more friendly. There were a couple occasions where I had was sitting
in the cart while they used hte restroom or were looking in a
shop or just did not want to back it in somewhere and I was amazed
at how many CMs came up to me to chat, many more than it I would
have been sitting on the bench next to the cart...
