Trip Log:
Started off at AKL. Walked down to
Mara and then around the resort a bit. Back to room
to get bags transferred to Yacht Club. Bussed to AK,
then to Yacht Club. Checked in. Walked over to EPCOT.
Got fastpass for Test Track. Checked out Tile in leave
a legacy (still there) then over to the Land for Listen
to the Land. Back to Test Track to ride it. Grabbed
a quick lunch. Back to Cranium Command. Then Spaceship
Earth and out of the EPCOT back to Yacht club.
Left Yacht club after Dinner and then over to EPCOT
for the evening. Walked around the lagoon visiting the
countries going from the International Gateway toward
France and all the way back to watch Illuminations and
then back to Yacht Club for the night.
Thoughts & Observations:
- Golfed first thing in the morning. It was cool to start off
with, but warmed up. The course was in good shape and we were
allowed to take the carts on all holes but 2. I shot about average
for myself (which is a better basketball score than golf)...
- We met some relatives after golfing at the Animal Kingdom Lodge
and then went over for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, I was really
surprised how efficient the busses were to the Lodge, we waited
no more than 10 minutes the entire trip to get a bus to our destination.
- Over at the Magic Kingdom they were taping the Christmas parade
that will be run on ABC Christmas day (10am here in LA). One member
of our group bailed out of golfing and went for Carmel Corn at
the MK, and said it was a mad house.
- Went back to MK in the evening and it was not that bad, seemed
like summer with the crowd. The biggest problem was the show scedule
was all messed up because of the taping and the poor CMs were
going crazy trying to help people out...
- On our tour of the Animal Kingdom Lodge we walked through most
of the resort trying to see what the different savannas looked
like and which was the best. We were surprised by the different
dimensions of the savannas. I figured the outter ones would all
look similiar, but they were not. We were on the Zebra Trail which
looked opposite the main savanna(the one scene from the lobby).
On the other wing of the hotel the savanna was much shallower
and did not look very big. The fences were very close and extremely
visible...
- I really like the layout of the hotel. There would be a block
of rooms probably 10-15 on a side and then a break with windows
and seating to see the savannas, so if you did not have a good
view from your room or the animals were not there you could move
around the resort and see them.
- There appeared to be three savannas, the main one you see from
the lobby and one on either side, all separated by fences.
