Trip Log:

Woke up and finished packing, dropped the suit cases and golf clubs off with the airline checkin on the way to breakfast.  After eating at the Grab and Go went back to the room to get the carryons and dropped them off at Bell Services on the way to the bus stopped.  Hopped a bus to the Animal Kingdom and hiked out to get a Fastpass.  Strolled around the Tree of Life and Asia before circling back to Pangani Forest.  Next up a quick lunch at Pizzafari.  After lunch finished our circle of the Tree of Life heading back toward the Oasis where half our party departed to catch their bus to the airport.  We walked through Dinoland and past Everest.  The single rider line was about 15 minutes so went for a ride since we still had 20 minutes to kill before our Safari Fastpasses.  After Everest walked over to Africa and rode the Safari.  Next we headed for the bus stops and took the bus to EPCOT, then the monorail to the TTC and the Ferry over to the Magic Kingdom where we hopped on the Resort Monorail to the Contemporary.  Grab a quick bite at the Grab and Go and our bags from Bell Services.  Walked down to the lobby and out to catch the Magical Express Bus and head to the airport and back to LA.

Thoughts & Observations:

  • Today our bus luck really seemed to run out. As we waited to head over to the Animal Kingdom five or six Downtown Disney busses rolled through the bus stop. It was amazing... finally the Hollywood Studios bus and then the Animal Kingdom one showed up.

  • The Animal Kingdom seemed fairly quiet this morning. Unfortunately we got there a little late for some in our group who had an earlier pickup time so they were not able to use their Fastpasses and go on the Safari with us. We spent some time just walking around the park while waiting for our Fastpass time.

  • I was a little surprised by the number of stops the Magical Express Bus made. It picked us up at the Contemporary, then headed for the Wilderness Lodge, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian before heading to the airport. Add on that we were the second stop at the airport and the driver was being trained, so he was slow, and it was quite a long ride to the airport.

  • Then to top things off United did its normal delay routine. This time there was an issue with the plane so we had to wait for the part to come in, which it did about an hour after we were scheduled to leave. Once repaired the next issue was the flight crew was still back at the hotel instead of at the airport so we had to wait another hour for them to arrive and for us to get ready to depart. For the life of me I do not understand why customer service is so hard for the airlines. Seems to me if they were telling us that there would be a 9pm departure (since around 6pm) that the flight crew would have the same info and be there for 9pm instead of leaving their hotel at 9pm. We were over three hours late. Only nice thing is Orlando airport at least has free wireless and TVs in the terminal. I only wish they had the "mall" area after security. We wanted to go to some of the stores but were too lazy to go back out and then have to come back through security and I would image many others think the same way.
