Trip Log:

Started off the morning with a good breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse.  After breakfast walked over to the Magic Kingdom.  Strolled down Main Street and through Adventureland.  Stopped by Pirates since it had a posted wait of 15 minutes (it was only about 8 or 9 though).  After Pirates continued on to Big Thunder/Splash’s area to see what the lines looked like, too long, so walked back along the river and stopped at the Country Bears.  After the show hiked over to the Liberty Belle but missed it by 20 steps or so.  Wandered around a bit and grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz and then a funnel cake before heading back to the Liberty Belle.  Made our round trip voyage and then walked over to Buzz to save the Galaxy.  Once back headed up Main Street, stopping for a quick Hot Dog at Caseys and then strolled through the Art Gallery, Candy Store, and Hat Store before deciding to make a round trip journey on the Railroad.  Once back took the Ferry over to the TTC (while waiting the skies opened up on us but by the time we had to board it stopped).  At the TTC transferred to the EPCOT Monorail.  Once in EPCOT stopped by Innoventions for the free Disney Visa photo and then grabbed a Fastpass for Test Track and headed for World Showcase.  Strolled around and stopped in China to take in the acrobats and Reflections of China show.  After the show continued our trip around the world to the International Gateway and over to the Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner.   After dinner dodged the rain a bit as we walked back to EPCOT and out to catch the BJ Thomas.  Once his set concluded we walked back around the lagoon, past Japan, France, etc.. and over to Test Track to use our Fastpasses.  After riding  we went and picked up our photos at the front of EPCOT and went for another spin on Spaceship Earth.  Had some time to kill still so stopped by the EPCOT 25 display before Illuminations.  After the show walked briskly to the monorail, transferred to the express and made it onto Main Street with 20 minutes to spare for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.  After Wishes boarded the Resort line back to the Contemporary, stopped to pick up a couple things then back to the room to pack and call it a night.

Thoughts & Observations:

  • Today was our last full day so we spent it going around to the parks and visiting the attractions that we missed on early trips and we wanted to avoid the rain, it threatened for most of the day and opened up a couple of times for 5-10 minutes. Not bad to spend a week in Central Florida and only get rained on a couple times both in the same day.

  • We ate breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse since it will probably be long gone by our next visit (for those who do not know it is slated to close when the new restaurant opens on the 1st floor. The steakhouse will be divided and part of it will become a fast food location and the other part will become part of Chef Mickey's from what I have heard). The food was good, but the service was extremely slow and they were not even that busy...

  • We saved the Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner as that is our favorite restaurant and the meal did not disappoint. The steaks were great! I did notice they sourdough rolls are now smaller, still tasted great though. Unfortunately I thought the service was a bit sub par, slower and just not as attentive as it usually is.

  • We decided to give Test Track a whirl and lucked out that the rain held off enough that they did not close it down (they kept announcing while we were in line that it may close at any time). The on ride photo system was down though, so no pictures.

  • Also interesting to note the on ride photo system on Spaceship Earth decided not to take my picture either.. it was working for others though.

  • I was surprised at how quickly I was able to get from Illuminations over to the Magic Kingdom to see Wishes. I figured I would just barely make it, but I was lucky with the monorails and timing and actually made it over to the Magic Kingdom with a full twenty minutes to spare.
