Trip Log:

Started off the morning with a 6:15am wake up call and we were at breakfast by 6:30 at Everything Pop and in a cab on our way to Eagle Pines at Bonnet Creek by 7:00am for our 8am tee time.  Played our round then took a cab back to Pop Century.  Grabbed showers and a change of clothes then we were off via bus to the Magic Kingdom.  We walked over to the Contemporary and ate lunch at the Concourse Steakhouse.   After lunch we hopped on the monorail to the TTC and then took the ferry to the Magic Kingdom.  We headed down Main Street and found a spot to catch the 3:00pm parade and then headed to the Hall of Presidents.  After the show we caught Woody’s Roundup in Frontierland and then circled back through the hub and over to Tomorrowland.  Grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz and road the TTA.  We noticed there was no real line for Buzz so we went for a spin and I set a new record for myself (over 770,000 points).  After Buzz we headed back to Liberty Square and to Sleepy Hollow for funnel cakes and ice cream sandwiches.  After eating we wandered down Main Street, pausing to watch some of the tree lighting on our way to the express monorail.  We road over to the TTC, transferred to the EPCOT line then hiked out to the Studios bus.  We wandered around Hollywood Blvd taking pictures and headed out to the Streets of America and the Osborne lights.  We spent some time walking around and then headed down Mickey Ave and back to Hollywood Blvd.  We headed down the street and back to the bus to Pop Century.  Once back at the Resort we stopped by Everything Pop for a snack and then back to the room to call it an early evening.

Thoughts & Observations:

  • Started off the day at Eagle Pines and enjoyed a great round of golf. The course was in great shape and not crowded at all.

  • We at lunch at the Concourse Steakhouse and had a really good meal. I still like their old menu better, this one seems a little to "fancy" for me, but the steak was good. Only complaint I have is I asked for the steak well and they brought me a rare steak (it was extremely rare, not even close) and it took almost 20 minutes to get it cooked well.. but the wait was worth it. I was a little suprised that they did not even apologize or anything for this. In the past when a Disney restaurant messed up that bad you would at least get a visit from the manager saying they were sorry, but this time nothing at all..

  • We boarded the Resort monorail after eating and it took the monorail almost 10 minutes to pull out of the station and then a good 10 minutes to finally make it over to the TTC. Not sure what the problem was. From what I could overhear from the CMs it seemed to be a radio problem at first but then not sure. I thought it was really poor they did not even make an announcement or anything.. you just sat there waiting. At least we were seated on the monorail and not stuck at the station watching the train sit there for a long time like several guests we saw. We decided to disembark and take the Ferry from the TTC and we almost beat the monorail there (we just missed the boat and had to wait till the next one or we would have beaten it there).

  • We were in Liberty Square to watch the daytime parade and ended up on the South side of the street opposite Sleepy Hollow. We were really suprised to find that once the parade started the crowd control CMs disappeared and so did the parade crossing area, so we were trapped till after the parade (we wanted to go to Hall of Presidents next).

  • I still enjoy the Hall of Presidents and really miss the origianl Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln at Disneyland... maybe someday it will be back (and hopefully not the annoying 3D sound version). Also I found it nice to be back in the South where they still clapped for the president.. even the audioanamatronic one...

  • I thought the Woody’s Roundup show that happens on the street in Frontierland was a nice guest interaction show and it drew a healthy crowd. I think little street shows like this are a great thing.

  • I was extremely proud of my Buzz Lightyear score.. that was my first time crossing 500,000 with a score of over 770,000.. I only wish they had the photo email option that included your score like Disneyland does.. at least I got a picture of my score.
