Walt Disney World Day 8 Report

October 6, 2004

Trip Log:

Started off the morning with no wakeup call but still to breakfast by 8am. Ate, then back to the room to pack up. Headed to Animal Kingdom about quarter to ten. Walked through the park and grabbed a fastpass for the Safari. While waiting strolled over to Asia, caught the riverboat band, then onto the Jungle Trek. Trekked back to Africa and had some Pepsi before boarding our Safari. Once we got off the truck it was back to the park entrance and to the bus back to Pop Century to finish packing and get ready to leave.

Thoughts & Observations:

  • Bummer our last day. Which involved packing up and confirming our late checkout before heading out to the park.

  • It seems to have become a tradition to visit the Animal Kingdom on our laast morning, I guess its because you can usually see something new and its not too crowded. Also I enjoy the park because its so different than our Disney parks out here on the West Coast.

  • We caught the band out on the old River Boat, happened to stumble upon them. I heard drums coming from the direction of Everest and decided we needed to investigate. When we got down to the path we saw the boat and had a front row view of their performance. What a great addition. We wish it would have been on a schedule somewhere or more regular to catch them in other areas of the park.

  • We spent some time walking around Pop Century while waiting for our ride to the airport. Walked out to the bridge to the Legendary Years and no visible progress since our last trip in May. Wonder when they will start up construction again and finish the resort...
