Walt Disney World Day 7 Report

October 5, 2004

Trip Log:

Started off with no alarm, but still up by 7ish. Out to breakfast, back to the room, then back to the bus stops by 9am. Headed for EPCOT first. Walked in, saw our tiles, took some pictures, then headed for the monorail and the TTC. Took the ferry boat over to the Magic Kingdom. Walked down Main Street and over to Tomorrowland. Took a spin on the People Mover (TTA), then over to Liberty Square. Just missed the Hall of Presidents by a minute, continued around to the Harbor House, still not open. Back to Liberty Square for a snack(funnel cake) then into Hall of Presidents. After the show headed down Main Street and to the express monorail to the TTC. Grabbed a bus to Animal Kingdom. Entered the park and headed to Flame Tree for lunch, decided it was too warm outside so went to eat inside in dinoland. Walked through Dinoland and out past Tarzan and around the new trail by Expedition Everest. Continued through Asia and into Africa. Grabbed a quick Safari, while onboard it started to rain. Once we departed it continued to drizzle as we headed back to the front of the park. Headed to the busses and back to Pop Century to rest. Next up back to the busses and out to the Studios this time. Walked down the Blvd. and to the Muppets area. Watched the show then continued around through the Big City Streets area and by the Great Movie attraction before heading to the Animation Courtyard and then down the Blvd. and out of the park. A quick bus ride back to Pop Century to drop someone off and we hopped on a bus over to Downtown Disney. Walked through the Marketplace stopping for a quick bite at McD's and then to the World of Disney and the Art of Disney stores to buy some things to take home. Back on the bus to Pop Century to drop off our new treasures. After a quick pit stop in the room it was back on a bus to the Magic Kingdom. Arrived on Main Street right as Mickey was going by in Spectro Magic. After watching the parade it was time for some ice cream as we waited for Wishes. Watched the fireworks from the far end of Main Street. After the show it was off to the busses and back to the resort to pack up and catch some zzzzs..

Thoughts & Observations:

  • We had no real goal on this our last full day. We had a handful of attractions scattered throughout the four parks that we wanted to see. So we decided to try and catch them all in one day (as you can read in the log below). So we managed to get to all four parks, Downtown Disney, as well as some time at the Resort packing.

  • This also was the first day it drizzled/rained on us. Not for long, maybe 20 minutes while on Safari and immediately afterward, but it was rain. Really surprising to spend 8 days in central Florida and that was the only rainfall. The locals really needed the time to clean up from the recent Hurricanes and the timing could not be better for us either.

  • Not much else to report... we did learn that Disney decides their shipping rates based off value and not weight. We ordered something that weighed over 40lbs once it arrived and the shipping was only $5 or so because it was under $100.
