Trip Log:
Started off our last full day here at WDW at 6:30am.
Headed for the lounge at 7am when it opened and then
off to Bonnet Creek for our 8:30am tee time at Osprey.
Checked in and the CM working the register was a bit
snippy.. then we played our 18 holes. Headed back to
the Beach Club to regroup. Some headed to ESPN for lunch,
others Beaches & Cream. After lunch took the bus
over to the Magic Kingdom. Grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz
and headed to the Hall of Presidents, followed by Goofy’s
Country Dancin’ Jamboree. After the show headed
over to ride Buzz followed a spin on the PeopleMover
(TTA) and then over to Mickey’s PhilharMagic and
then a quick snack at Sleepy Hollow before heading out
of the park. Took the express monorail to the TTC then
the EPCOT monorail over to EPCOT. Walked through the
park (some broke off for food at China) I headed for
the International Gateway and then Pizza on the Boardwalk.
Took the Friendship Launch back to the Beach club. Caught
our breath at the room then headed back to EPCOT for
Illuminations before calling it quits for the night.
Thoughts & Observations:
- Osprey Ridge had been shut down for some rehab work for a few
weeks and just had reopened a few days before we played. The fairways
and rough were in good shape and the greens were starting to come
back. Overall the course was in pretty good shape and was enjoyable
to play.
- For lunch I had take out again from Beaches and Cream, I think
I am hooked on that versus eating inside.
- The Hall of Presidents was playing to a good size crowd, which
was nice to see. It really is one of those attractions that should
not be missed. The storyline, the technology, and just the history
are pretty interesting.
- Caught Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree and we rate this show
as great for young kids and just ok for the rest of us. Its another
one of those shows where they really seem to have dumbed it down,
but then when compared to the sorry Buzz Lightyear show Disneyland
has had the past few years its ok. My largest complaint is it
replaced the variety show which I really enjoyed. Not sure why
they cannot run both. The kids show during the day and the other
one in the evening. Then everyone wins.
- We grabbed a snack at Sleepy Hollow, still cannot beat the view
of the castle while eating a fesh ice cream sandwhich or funnel
cake. We were extremely surprised by the sorry state of the eating
area. All the tables looked as if they had not been wiped down
in several hours, add in trash on the ground and left on tables
and it was really sad to see. The food was great once we cleared
a place to sit.
- We were also suprised to look back on the trip and this to be
the only time we road the monorail from the Magic Kingdom over
to EPCOT. This used to be our traditional first day activity to
visit the resorts and ride it, but now with an Annual Pass we
did not.. its still a great ride and really shows how the monorail
can be used to go distance.. like all Disneygeeks out there, I
too wish they would expand the line to other resorts/parks.
- The Inferno Barge did not go off during Illuminations. The show
was delayed twice for about 10 minutes and you could see boats
scurring around the lake. Once the show finally started the barage
did not go off at all, it just sat there silently.
