Trip Log:
Started off the day at 6:00am getting ready for
a 7:00am fishing. After fishing it was back to the lounge
to relax and meet friends. Lounged around the resort
for a while then took a walk around the Boardwalk stopping
at ESPN for lunch. Then finished the loop. Said our
goodbyes then off to EPCOT for the afternoon. Spent
some time in Morocco, Japan, and the American Adventure.
Watched the band at AA, then the show. Afterwards caught
some of the Turtles at the stage then continued our
walk to China to grab a bite. Then to Future World,
and through the Rose garden. Out of the park and to
the Beach Club and Beaches and Cream for dinner. After
dinner some mini golf then called it a night at 10:30.
Thoughts & Observations:
- We started off our day with a great fishing excursion that
departed from the Beach Club at 7am. Since EPCOT was not open
yet we were allowed to fish in the park almost the entire time.
The first hour was great, no guests in the park and only a few
CMs around. It was extremely peaceful and quiet. Then around 8am
the music started and their was a princess breakfast in Norway,
so some guests in that area of the park, but the rest was still
calm. Its hard to beat the idea of fishing around the world..
even for those who are not that into fishing, like myself.
- We ate lunch at the ESPN Club. The service and food were ok,
but after experiencing the ESPN Zone in Anaheim, the club seems
second rate.
- In the American Adventure @ EPCOT we saw a new group performing,
Hometown Jamboree. They were a “country” band, and
really a nice change for the attraction. I still enjoy the Voices
of Liberty though., if this group was outside and Voices inside
it would be incredible…
- Had dinner at Beaches & Cream (some were hungry and got
meals, the others ice cream), luckily we did not have to wait
more than 10 minutes for a table. Still amazes me that they have
not expanded the place ever.
- We left the parks relatively early and ended up headed to Fantasia
Gardens for a round of golf on the fairways. The course is as
challenging as ever and add in the lack of lights in some areas
and it was a tough evening.
- I had not been on the course while Fantasmic was going on,
this was the first time, and it was extremely loud. Loud as if
you were in the theater. Guess the winds were blowing just right.
Also as the wind shifted you could hear Illuminations from EPCOT
coming from the other direction.
