May 13, 2025 - Day 8: Tokyo Disney Resort

My last full day in Tokyo started like the others.  I was up well before 6am and headed to the Sheraton club for breakfast soon after it opened at 6:30am.  After breakfast posted some pictures and relaxed in the room before heading out at 9am.  Walked over to Bayside Station and caught a Resort Liner to Tokyo DisneySea.  We left too early so had to wait a bit. It took about 20 minutes from exiting the Monorail to being in the park.  I had no agenda for the day so made my way toward the American Waterfront.  On the way decided to try my luck for seats for the first Big Band Beat.  I won a spot in the balcony.   Went for a ride on the Tokyo DisneySea Electric Railway to Port Discovery and then boarded the next train back to the American Waterfront.  Spent some time roaming around the Toy Story area then went in and took my seat for the Big Band Beat, Special Treat Show.   After the performance paid a visit to the SS Columbia then walked across the bridge to the Cape Cod area where we went for a round trip ride on a Transit Steamer.  Once back continued on along the pathway to Port Discovery.  There I used a 40th Anniversary pass for the Searider.  Decided to take the Electric Railway back to the American waterfront then walk to the front of the park.  Took the Resort Liner to the Gateway station and disembarked for lunch at Ikspairi.   After lunch back on the Resort Liner to Tokyo DisneySea.  Spent some time in the Mediterranean Harbor taking some pictures while the rest of the group snacked.  Watched the Duffy and Friends float by too.  Walked down to the American Waterfront then back.  Ended up strolling around to Mermaid Lagoon then across the bridge to the Arabian Coast.  Stopped to see the Magic Lamp show and then continued on to Fantasy Springs.  First up Rapunzel's Lantern Festival.    It was posted at 70 minutes and took me 64.   Fairy Tinker Bell's Busy Buggies was next.  It was posted at 40 minutes and took me 34 minutes.   Stopped by the Royal Banquet of Arendelle to have a look around.   Decided to complete the trifecta with Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure which was posted at 40 minutes and took me 23 min to reach a ship, 16 minutes to reach the preshow.  After my adventure spent the rest of my park time, about 50 minutes just roaming around Fantasy Springs taking pictures and video.  At 9pm I was walking toward the exit as the park closed announcement played.  Took the Resort Line around to Bay Side Station and walked back to the Sheraton to wrap up day.

Thoughts & Observations
  • Today was a bonus park day for us.  We had a day set aside in case of bad weather or if we failed to visit something we wanted to on one of the other days. We allocated two days to each park on this trip.   We do miss the park-hopping option.  This summer, Tokyo will again start to offer the option, but the price point does not seem like it is going to be an attractive option.     For this fifth park day, I decided to spend another day at DisneySea with the goal of visiting the Fantasy Springs attractions again if the wait times seemed reasonable.
  • Our plan was to show up after 9:30 and avoid the entry wait.  We were in the room and ready to go, and decided to just go and wait it out, so we left about half an hour early, and it took nearly 20 minutes to get through the entry queue.  If we had shown up at 9:30, the wait would have been closer to 10 minutes, it looked like.
  • Of course, since I did not need/want the seats, I managed to secure seats for Big Band Beat.  Since the show is going away before our next visit we used them. They were in the last row of the balcony but in the center section.
  • We started in the American Waterfront.  Toy Story had a healthy wait as always so we opted for back to back trips on the Tokyo DisneySea Electric Railway, which was a great way to start out the day. Due to there being no real wait, we drew our choice of seats both ways.
  • Spent the rest of the morning visiting the SS Columbia, the Transit Steamers and used a 40th Anniversary Pass for the Nemo SeaRider.  So, it was a fairly low-key morning.
  • For lunch, we looked around at the menus and decided to go to a later lunch at TGI Fridays in  Ikspairi.  This plan failed as we showed up and the restaurant was closed from 2-5 today for some event.   We were hungry by this point and ended up down at McDonalds.
  • I had hoped to catch the DisneySea Maritime Band this visit. Unfortunately, I failed in that.  I caught a glimpse of them as our Resort Liner pulled into the station this afternoon, but by the time I made it into the park, they were long gone.  Throughout the afternoon, I kept an ear and eye out for them and never spotted them.
  • As the evening approached, I ventured out to Fantasy Springs to try my luck with the wait times. They had been holding constant most of the day, unfortunately.   The posted wait times were relatively close for two out of three, so I spent a good deal of time in line.  Rapunzel was posted at 70, taking me 64.  The Busy Buggies were posted at 40 and took 34, and Peter Pan was posted at 40, taking me 23 only.     Frozen is closed for renovation so that was not an option today.   I spent the final 3.5 hours of my day visiting Fantasy Springs, experiencing the three attractions as well as the Royal Banquet of Arendelle.
  • I spent some time walking around the Royal Banquet of Arendelle taking some pictures since it was emptying out for the evening when I was there.  This is a quick-service dining location inside the Arendelle Castle.   There are several rooms in this large facility, it can seat 570 people.  I found the details throughout to be fun, and for a quick service location, it was great!
  • My final park day turned out to be pleasant, and I visited more attractions than planned.  I was disappointed I did not see more entertainment. Part of this is due to a very limited selection at DisneySea nowadays, and part of it is my bad timing due to them not posting atmosphere entertainment show times.
