Geek's Thoughts & Observations

I did not stay at the Hotel MiraCosta nor dine there. But I did spend some time exploring the lobby and common areas. The exterior of the resort is incredible and serves as the backdrop for the Tokyo DisneySea theme park. Many of the rooms of the hotel have views into the park. From inside and out the park when you see the hotel you have to remind yourself it is a hotel and not just a set piece for the park. The hotel lobby is impressive in detail, but not in size. It felt rather small and crowded to me. For a 500 room hotel it is right sized but it just felt small to me. From the lobby and several of the common areas you can get a view into the park and it was really fun to be walking around as a show was going on inside the park and you are able to watch it.

From the pictures I have seen the views into the park are amazing. I would be extremely conflicted staying here... you pay all that money for a theme park view... but you want to experience the theme park so you cannot sit there and enjoy it all day and night long! So I would be torn between staying in the room or visiting the park. Just not enough hours in the day/vacation to do both :)

The hotel features an entrance directly into the DisneySea park and a dedicated walkway from the front door over to the DisneySea Resort Line Station. Interesting note.. when leaving the Resort Line there is a dedicated exit for the hotel walkway. But when boarding you have to go down and around to the regular entrance.
