Ikspiari |
A center filled with stores and entertainment. A mini-Downtown Disney of sorts. There are a variety of stores and dining experiences located here. Including a Rain Forest Cafe, TGI Fridays, Starbucks, Ben & Jerrys, food courts, bakeries, a Disney Store, Disney Vacation Club preview center, Movie Theater and more. On the lower level we found a mini mark/grocery store of sorts too. |

Geek's Thoughts & Observations |
We found navigating Ikspiari a little bit of a challenge initially. There were very few websites that provided information in English and once there even the maps had little English so it was a bit of a challenge. I guess the best description of it is a shopping mall. They have outdoor and indoor portions. We eventually learned where we could find some food and were good to go. Most of the stores did not interest me. They were general merchandise, not very Disney centric. There is a large Disney Store, but it is a regular Disney Store like you would find in a mall in the US (only larger) and not really park specific. Since I am not an adventurous eater upon exiting the Resort Line I spied a TGI Friday's and we ended up eating there several times over the week. It was a menu I knew and was comfortable with. I thought about the Rain Forest Cafe but TGI Friday's was slightly less expensive and a lot less chaotic. We found a couple of bakeries that we stopped at several times also to buy items for breakfast and to snack on. One issue we found is may of the locations opened later in the morning and closed relatively early at night. So if you wanted to stop before park opening or after park closing that was not really an option. So we would have to stop in the mid afternoon the day before to buy bakery for the next morning if we wanted to eat early and be ready to go.
