Day 1: Disneyland
Day 2: DCA
Day 3: Disneyland

Day 1: Disneyland

On Tuesday I went to Disneyland. I had a hotel package through Disney Travel so I could go to the early admission. The last time I did early admission, they would only open up one land. Well, now they open up at least 15 different rides spread through the park, except for Adventureland and New Orleans. All of the Fantasyland rides had absolutely no lines. If I had small kids, that would definetly be the time to go. No line for Dumbo or Peter Pan.

I used fast pass for almost everything, except Haunted Mansion and Pirates, although the lines were not that bad. The longest line, even with a pass, was the Autopia. That line is very slow. But I had to ride the new one. Splash Mountain had a very long stand-by line almost all day. About a 50 minute wait.Going in early made it a long day,so I went back to the hotel at about 3p.m., then came back at 6. The park closed at 9pm.

Day 2: Disney California Adventure (DCA)

On Wednesday I went to DCA. Since they opened at 10,with no early admission, I got to sleep in!I really liked DCA-BUT, I can see that they do need more attractions. The first ride I went to was Soaring over CA.They did not have the Fast-Pass tickets yet, or single rider, so I waited in line for about 20 minutes. I have to say that I cried.(I tend to cry at anything) It was so incredible! I rode it 6 more times that day.The 1st line gives you more of the soaring feeling.

I loved California Screamin. Rode it 5 times. The Zephyr shut down by 11am. Did they not learn anything from the sky buckets at Disney? Duh-its a windy area! The Sun Wheel is okay, but you only move a little bit and it takes forever. Mulholland was running-but not open. Loved Grizzly Run. About 5pm there was no line at all. So I rode it 4 times in a row. They were taking boats off of the line, so the ride was much wilder and wetter each time.I was completely soaked. The park pretty much cleared out at 5. It closed at 8. The ride that shoots you straight up(forgot the name)I rode it 2 times. The single rider line still took awhile. Superstar Limo-what the heck was that? Weird.

Most of the people I talked to were from other states. I think for Californians, alot of DCA is no big deal. I mean, I live 50 miles from the Napa Wine Country, I live 80 miles from San Francisco. Been there, done that. But for people from the mid-west or other countries, to them California is Hollywood and movie stars, because thats what they see on tv. So its like the lands over in WDW. Except they did one.

The Bugs Life movie scared the ___ out of so many kids! I heard one mom tell her crying child, "If I knew it was going to be like that, we would not have gone." There are signs saying its loud and wild, and the attendant also announces it!

I did notice that when I was at Disney, the crowd was mellow, smiling, happy. At DCA, I saw so many mad, mean faces, crying kids-and this was early on in the day. One mom told me that there was alot more walking between attractions. I think that they need to do something with trees on the West side. At about 2pm the sun is blazing right at the Paradise Pier. There is hardly any shade, and thats where all of the rides are.

And what the heck is with the blaring music? It was WAY too loud everywhere! If I hear "I Wish They All Could Be California Girls" one more time in that grating calliope-sounding "muzak" I think I will do something very un-Disney like! I liked DCA, but I could not see myself going back in awhile. After 1 day, I was done.

Day 3: Disneyland

Thursday I went back to D-Land for a couple hours before going home.I couldnt go back to DCA for a second day.

Well thats my novel!
