Worlds of Pixar

This appeared to be the "heart" of the park to me. It had the most attractions and had a lot of energy to it. It is also houses the new additions to the park, Ratatouille, Crush & Toy Story Playland. This land was spun off from Toon Studio in 2021 to form its own land.

Geek's Thoughts & Observations

  • Ratatouille: The Adventure - One area of the park that does feel more immersive and has more details than other is the new Ratatouille space.  This consists of the attraction, restaurant, restrooms, and gift shop and was my first destination on my first visit.  I was much more impressed with Ratatouille than I thought I was going to be.  The description and videos I had seen online really did not do it justice.  The integration of vehicle movement with the large format 3D film clips was really well done.  They pushed the trackless ride vehicles more than Mystic Manor did in terms of movement but I thought Mystic Manor utilized the variable paths better. I went on several times over the trip and with only slight variations in course it really felt like the same experience.  Whereas Mystic Manor you could see different things depending on the car.

  • Bistrot Chez Remy - I choose to eat lunch at Remys. We were limited to the prix fix menu and no changes because of the dining plan we were on.  I ordered the beef which came with fries, so it was right in my wheel house. I found the food to be pretty good... iit was not great and was expensive but it was lunch and filled me up.

  • Cars Quatre Roues Rallye - This is sort of a Lady Bug Boogie type of attraction but you sit in Cars instead.  It was an very tight fit and definitely geared toward smaller/younger guests.  The queue has some cars references but it feels very tacky compared to the rich environment of Cars Land or even the neighboring Ratatouille area.

  • Crush's Coaster - I did not experience this since I am not a coaster person and the thought of a spinning coaster did not help the case to go for a ride. It was consistently one of the longest wait times in the park.

  • Toy Story Playland (RC Racer, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin, Toy Soldiers Parchute Drop) - I had experienced two of these three attractions while in Hong Kong in April 2015 and when the weather was good the lines were longer than my patience to experience them again. On the whole I was disappointed with the Playland area. It felt much more small and almost shoe horned into the space unlike the one in Hong Kong that even while not immersive it felt like it belonged and had a purpose.
