Tomorrowland

Hong Kong Disneyland - Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland houses a large number of attractions second only to Fantasyland. During my trip there in 2015 the attraction that consistently had one of the longest wait times was the Autopia. Space Mountain is here and is a FastPass attraction. In 2016 the already crowded area will be adding Disney's first Marvel attraction, the Iron Man Experience.

Note the Stitch Encounter is offered in three languages, so be sure to check the attraction for the times of the show in your language of choice - English, Cantonese, or Mandarin

Geek's Thoughts

My first impressions from my April 2015 trip:

  • Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is very similar to the Anaheim version of the attraction.  The space cruisers, guns, and many of the targets are the same and same locations.  I was able to score fairly well even though I was taking pictures and talking with our hostess.  Unfortunately due to the Iron Man work there is no Fast Pass right now.
  • Autopia consistently seemed to have the longest wait times in the park.  They have three tracks.  I experienced one track twice.  I choose to go on the track that has the elevated section over Tomorrowland.  I believe this is also the longest of the three.  The others seemed to curve around in the same area but they do not go out into Tomorrowland.    The electric cars were a fun change of pace.  They were so quiet to drive around in.  The ride was smooth from a drive train point of view but the track or car suspension made it rather “bouncy” as you will see if you watch my video.

  • Stopped by the Stitch Encounter and waited way too long for such a short show.  Because of the limited number of English shows and our schedule I opted to wait almost half an hour for the show.   The show itself was fine.  For those familiar with Turtle Talk it is the same type of experience.  Stitch appears on the screen and interacts with guests.  There is more of a story line to keep the show moving where as Turtle Talk seems more free form to me.

  • I ate a couple meals at the Sarliner Diner and neither was that good. I tried their burger and it was bad.. the one at the Royal Banquet Hall was substantially better. Also tried their grilled chicken and it was not bad but not that good either in my opinion.
