    Our destination, the Contemporary
Forgot to grab a shot of the bus at the airport (we had our own again this trip)
  • Page Number: 5
No crowd at the checkin counter either

Our room was ready so we went to drop off the bags. Here was our great view!
We were on the sixth floor (right above the monorail)
  • Page Number: 7
The view from the room door, into the Grand Canyon Concourse
The busses (and monorails) have celebration markings
  • Page Number: 8
Next stop the Animal Kingdom Lodge (thanks to a great bus driver who took us directly there vs going to the Animal Kingdom and having to switch busses). Here is the new sign for the original part of the resort
The bus signs have been updated with info on how to get to the new DVC (Disney Vacation Club) portion of the resort.

There is a camp fire and observation area that extends out just like the main building

This is looking across to the Jambo house, these are the windows I used to take pictures of the construction over the past several visits to WDW
  • Page Number: 31
The savanna had not opened for the day yet
This is to the right of the lobby. The large arches on the first floor are the restaraunt, the weird arrangement of windows is actually where the elevators are

Work is still going on near the back of the pool area
  • Page Number: 42
Looking beyond the pool area you see a large field then regular Florida landscape.... wonder if this will be for a phase II somewhere down the road? That would put the pool area in the center of the two wings if it were to happen.
  • Page Number: 43
  • Page Number: 44
That is the bar in the distance
  • Page Number: 45
Back out of the pool area and looking at the lobby

    Next stop the Magic Kingdom

Spotted this interaction and just thought it was great to see a character having some one on one time with a child... even if it lasted only a couple seconds

    More work down the street
  • Page Number: 49
Not a large crowd in the park this afternoon.
  • Page Number: 50
Walls are up between the entrance to Pirates and its gift shop. This is going to be the new Pirate makeover location (Pirates League),
Here you can see the walls from the giftshop side
For some reason this sign near Pirates as you head toward Splash Mountain just bugs me.. not sure why though.. maybe its the break in show it causes
  • Page Number: 51
The old McFry cart is gone and in its place this new structure was built.
  • Page Number: 52
    The Menu...
Goofy signing autographs near Splash Mountain (a CM actually yelled in my direction during this shot saying if its not your child you cannot take pictures which seemed odd to me, especially since as you see the child is well outside the frame.. I was not sure if they were talking to me or not but I took my shot and moved on.)
  • Page Number: 53

Work continues on the Hall of Presidents

Time for the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party
The opening music is the same as Disneylands street party
  • Page Number: 57
The floats, dancers, etc.. all travel up Main Street to the hub, circle it, perform the show, then circle again and head back down Main Street.
  • Page Number: 58
  • Page Number: 59
I was short on time since I wanted to catch Stitch, I come back to see the full Street Party later.
Again not too crowded as I headed to Tomorrowland
  • Page Number: 60
Signs warning people of Space Mountains closure
I arrived just as the show started, this was the second show of Stitchs Supersonic Celebration, it debutted only an hour earlier with the first showing. (It had been in a soft open phase the past few weeks)

  • Page Number: 82
  • Page Number: 83
  • Page Number: 84
After rolling into position the characters disembark the floats
  • Page Number: 85
Characters then emerge from the gifts
  • Page Number: 86
  • Page Number: 87
Then everyone is invited into the street to dance
  • Page Number: 88
All the CMs in the area really seemed into the party too
  • Page Number: 89
Then the floats make the circle one more time
Before heading back down Main Street.
  • Page Number: 90
We headed for lunch at the Plaza Restaurant (I keep calling it the Plaza Inn since that is what Disneylands is called)
    A look inside
  • Page Number: 91
  • Page Number: 92
Then it was into Tomorrowland again... noticed one of Stitchs Fastpass machines was uncovered
Throughout all the parks are these special birthday Fastpass machines on attractions that did not have Fastpass operating that day
My Buzz score (managed to hit a couple 100K targets and maxed it out by the mid point of the attraction (I think my gun was broken I am good but not that good.. I probably only hit 5 or six targets)
  • Page Number: 93
The crowd for a later Stitch show as a little larger

The winner of our show would go on to compete in the finale show against the winners of the other shows then that person wins a golden ticket/fastpass for any American Idol try out so they do not have to wait in line.
Rumor is some hints were dropped at the 20th anniversary talks that the hat may be leaving soon (hope that is true)
