New Artwork Revealed for Star Wars-Themed Land Under Construction at the Disneyland Resort On July 11, 2016, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts released new artwork for the Star Wars-themed land being constructed at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. The new artist rendering shows the intriguing spaceport on a never-before-seen planet in the Star Wars galaxy. The 14-acre land will be the largest-ever, single-themed land expansion at the Disneyland Resort. The new land is part of the continual evolution at the Disneyland Resort, which entertains guests with new and beloved entertainment and attractions, seasonal overlays for selected attractions, plus new theming and regular refurbishments. Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced in 2015 that Star Wars-themed lands would be added to Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Fla., transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life. These authentic lands will have two signature attractions, including the ability to take the controls of one of the most recognizable ships in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon, on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle.
