Some painting/rehab work going on at the Grand Californian wing that overlooks Downtown Disney
Some of the tarps have come down on the rehab of the guest services/locker area
  • Page Number: 2
The left portion of the building where the restrooms and lockers are is still covered
This says 10 minutes, but it was really a walk on (its been a long time since I have seen that in the middle of a Friday afternoon)
  • Page Number: 3
The resort has new ECVs, these seem slightly smaller
    Again a walk on
Not many people out on the Pier
  • Page Number: 4
The test barges for the Wonderful World of Color show are gone
As is the pump equipment, just a couple hoses remain
Toy Story Mania is moving along at full speed (check the construction progress section Sunday for more shots)
  • Page Number: 5
There are still quite a few lights hanging/out on Screamin
They were not even using the Timon lot Friday
  • Page Number: 6
They have started working on the DVC units at the Grand Californian
Check the construction progress section Sunday for more shots
Spotted the Nemo Mobile backstage by Tower of Terror
  • Page Number: 7
A couple more Toy Story shots
Noticed some new planks along the Pier near the SS Rustworthy (these I spotted a trip or two ago but the picture did not come out)
  • Page Number: 8
New Year of a Million Dreams banners line part of the Parade route now
  • Page Number: 9
This looked really bright, it could have been the lighting, or it may have been recently painted
    Now over to Disneyland
  • Page Number: 10
No plants hanging from the lamp posts this week, my guess is they are waiting/preparing the Halloweentime ones
As you can see the lines were mild here too (this was around 2:30)
Tarps are up at the former Gallery location
  • Page Number: 11

  • Page Number: 17
The 10 extra feet or so in elevation gives you some great views of the surrounding area
  • Page Number: 18
    Looking out the back window

Had to wait for the pre-parade to pass
  • Page Number: 21
The mural over Buzz is covered up for some rehab work
I found it interesting that its printed on the tarp, wonder if this means its going to be a long rehab?
  • Page Number: 22
  • Page Number: 23
Decided to wait for Nemo, it was posted as an hour wait, but it looked less (it ended up being 45 minutes)

  • Page Number: 29
On the Block Party Bash float
  • Page Number: 30
I found an interesting thing on the Toy Story banners, if you look in the bottom right corner you find the copyright notices
And here is what it has, Disney then Disney-Pixar... that seemed odd since its the same company now also having Disney on there twice.
A safety recall notice for the Mattel toys (these were part of the lead recall from China
  • Page Number: 31
    The lines around 6:15pm

The cactus by Big Thunder are blooming (guess you call it blooming)
  • Page Number: 35
Its hard to tell in these shots (I took several and these are the best), but it looks like a new coating of slurry has been added to much of the Big Thunder trail
And some sort of work went on in several portions down the middle of the walkway but that was not repainted
  • Page Number: 36
Here is a section that was not done (but the middle area was worked on)
    Looking back up the trail
As you can see it was not very crowded
