Trip Log:

Started off this pleasant summer afternoon heading for Disneyland. Wandered down Main Street and into Adventureland. Continued on through NOS, around by the Train Station and Haunted Mansion before heading out to Critter Country. Made the loop then walked along the Rivers of America and through the Big Thunder Trail. Cut through Fantasyland and around the Castle on my way to Plaza Gardens to catch some of the College Band set. After their set walked back through the Castle and continued on through Fantasyland, out to Small World, looped through Toontown, then back through the Small World Mall on my way to Tomorrowland. Walked by Nemo, the Tomorrowland Terrace, and grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz. Decided to head over to DCA. Walked down the Backlot looped by Monsters, the Hyperion, and then through the Animation Building. Cut back through the entrance Plaza and then out to Bugsland. Circled around there and walked out to the Pier. The single Rider line for Toy Story was cut off so went for a spin on the Sun Wheel, check Toy Story again and then walked back around the Pier, past GRR, and through Condor Flats on my way back to Disneyland. Strolled down Main Street and into Adventureland. Jungle Cruise was longer than my taste so walked around the Golden Horseshoe and caught some of the Billys Set before heading down Main Street for the Flag Retreat. After the Restreat made another circle through Adventure/Fantasylands and then caught the College Band in front of the Castle. After the set grabbed another Fastpass for Buzz then a corn dog for dinner. Ate while watching the College Band at Tomorrowland Terrace. After the set used the Fastpasses for Buzz and then wandered down Main Street to catch the last College Band set of the year in front of the Train Station. After the performance it was over to DCA and I waited about 45 minutes to get on Toy Story. Then it was time to head for the garage and home.

Other Interesting Stats:
* Actual Walking Time: 2:40:37
* 93 steps per minute average
* 2.55 mph average

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

* After you read this report you may want to check out the pictorial updates in our Disneyland Resort Pictorial Update section

Hello all,

Friday was a great afternoon/evening at the Disneyland Resort. The crowds were about normal, maybe a bit on the light side, for mid August and the weather was mild. The lines at most attractions were under an hour, with Nemo even hovering under an hour much of the time.

Disneyland & DCA Thoughts and Observations:

  • Friday marked the end of some of the Summer entertainment offerings. Namely the 2008 All American College Band wrapped up their summer. Also I hear the Green Army Men near the tram stop and the Honda promotion are both over now too. I thought it was a nice touch that the College Band was present for the Flag Retreat.

  • No sign of the Blue Monorail, I had heard they were doing some day time testing recently so I was hoping to get some shots. Also saw on another website that Monorail Orange has arrived at the resort, so now they have four monorails on the beamway... only one, the Mark V Purple, actually carries guests all day. Monorail Red is on reduced hours and reduced capacity still because of heat.

  • I noticed when I stopped for dinner they now swipe your annual pass to apply the discount (at least at the corn dog wagon).

  • I wanted to stop by Innoventions again to see if they opened up anything on the outer ring yet, but the line was still quite long, it appeared only a couple of pods were loading still... wonder when the rest will start up again.

  • Took a spin on Toy Story Mania to end the evening, waited about 45 minutes. They were cutting off the single rider line due to the long wait for it, seemed at about a dozen people or so they did this. The standby line kept moving so it was not too bad. I still want to know who/why they approved to have some of the queue in a non air conditioned space with poor airflow. Even on a cool evening like Friday that room was quite warm. Its funny to me that I still get about the same score, no matter what I try to do... I seem to get between 120K and 150K.

  • Nothing else really comes to mind from the day. I spent some time wandering around trying to get some shots of some of the anticipated projects for the off season with hopes of having before/after shots.
