Trip Log:

Started off this cool afternoon walking over to Downtown Disney from the Mickey and Friends Garage to grab some Downtown Disney monorail station shots. Then walked through Downtown Disney and to Disneyland. Wandered down Main Street and around the hub taking some pictures of the now gone 50th decorations. Walked into Tomorrowland and got a Fastpass for Buzz then headed for Innoventions and some picutres of the on going work. Once I hit ground level again I stopped by Autopia but decided the line was too long so kept on walking through Tomorrowland and around the Matterhorn. Walked through Fantasyland and the Big Thunder Trail on my way into Frontierland. Caught the end of a Billy Hill set in their new(temporary) outdoor location. Next up New Orleans Square. Caught a couple songs by a new group performing right next to Cafe Orleans. Stopped by the Gallery to see what was new then continued on along the Rivers of America and out past Haunted Mansion and into Critter Country. Turned around and walked back along the Rivers and into Adventureland. stopped by Buzz for another Fastpass and then headed down Main Street and across the Esplanade to DCA. Wandered down to the Farm area and Fliks and then through the Wharf and around the Pier. Cut through the Bay area, around GRR, and through Condor Flats on my way to the Backlot. Circled the Backlot then headed to the entrance plaza and back to Disneyland. Walked down Main Street and grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz then circled the Castle for some pictures before heading back to Town Square for the Flag Retreat. After the Flag Retreat headed to the Esplanade then across the street to McDs for dinner. After dinner it was back to Disneyland. Walked down Main Street and into Tomorrowland. Decided to wait in line for Autopia to see what pictures I could get of the Nemo work. Then headed out to Toontown to finish the tour of the parks. Walked back through Fantasyland and around the Big Thunder Trail into NOS. Took a ride on Pirates then headed over to Tomorrowland to ride Buzz. After saving the Galaxy walked out to Fantasyland to see if there were any short lines (there were not since half the attractions were being shut down in preparation for the fireworks) so walked around the castle and through Carnation into Frontierland. Stopped for a few minutes then went into Adventureland and finally back to Main Street. Wandered through some shops and then found a spot for Remember. After the show followed the mob back to the tram and parking structure to head home.

Other Interesting Stats:
* Actual Walking Time: 4:11:23
* 105 steps per minute average
* 3.00 mph average

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

* After you read this report you may want to check out the pictorial updates in our Disneyland Resort Pictorial Update section

Hello everyone,

Friday was a bit of a gloomy day at the Disneyland Resort with the sun hidden behind clouds most of the afternoon. As you saw in the pictorial update there was a lot going on around the resort in terms of rehabs and 50th removal and not a lot of other things. Overall I thought the parks felt a bit quiet. There were a fair number of people roaming around but attraction wait times were minimal and the entertainment offerings were sparse in both sites.

DCA & Disneyland Notes:

  • As I rounded the corner to enter the Mickey and Friends garage I was greeted by a sea of brake lights and had to brake fairly quickly. The line to the parking toll booths extended all the way out of the garage and four lanes across. It took almost 20 minutes to get to the toll booth. Once up there I asked the CM what was going on with the long line and she looked at me rather confused as if to say the line wasn't long. While sitting there forever I noticed the price of parking has gone up again. Its now $11 to park instead of $10. Wonder how much of the delay is due to having to give so many singles back as change? I don't think that had anything to do with the extremely long delay though. The Lazygeek arrived later in the afternoon and said the line was long and slow but nothing like what I hit.

  • As I wandered the park looking around it was interesting to note which 50th items are gone already and which still remain. It seemed almost random to me with some of the hidden 50s. It appears all the mosaics except the one in the Opera house are gone.

  • When walking by the Festival Arena I spotted a sign saying there was an event for WDI Nemo Team Appreciation (or something to that affect). My picture didn't come out though.. and I didn't spot anyone I knew through the hole in the fence..

  • Billy Hill and the Hillbillies were out in Frontierland performing and they had a great backdrop with the store. I wish they would have been mic'd up. It was extremely hard to hear them. Also I would have liked to have heard some different music with the different setting. They were cut back to only three shows 3, 4, and 5pm according to Disneyland.com and they didn't even make the park time schedule.

  • Speaking of cutbacks the Columbia is only running on Saturday and Sundays again.

  • On a positive note though I was extremely pleased to see the Flag Retreat made the Time Guide Friday.. also they are still doing several announcements before the show and the crowd looked to be pretty good too. Hopefully its hitting the goals and getting the positive feedback it deserves. I think its a great ceremony and well worth seeing. This time I stood up on the Train Station and the sound was perfect.

  • Not much to report from DCA. I spent only about an hour walking the park. There really was not too much going on except for several painting projects. I thought the entertainment guide looked rather bare with just Block Party Bash and Playhouse Disney on the cover.. and the inside was just as sparse.

  • We are looking forward to the kick off of the new Halloweentime promotion this week.. so look for some pictures in the coming weeks (maybe this week if I can persuade the Lazygeek to head back to the resort again)...
