Trip Log:

Started off heading for Disneyland. Caught a ride on the DLRR out to Toontown. Walked throught Toontown, down and through Fantasyland and through Rancho Del Zoro to Frontierland. Road the Mark Twain and then finished the walking loop out to Critter Country. Back around and to NOS to catch the DLRR and over to Tomorrowland. Walked through the land and then down Main Street. Over to DCA. Down the backlot for Tower pictures then caught the new DUH show. After the show headed out to Bugsland and then around by the Pier and through GRR. Out to DD and to ESPN for dinner. After dinner back to Disneyland. Down Main Street and to Critter Country. Road Pooh and then over to Tomorrowland to catch Elvis at Club Buzz. After the show back to Adventureland and out to check Pirates. 15 min line, way too long for us. Walked out to CC to see what was happening. Pooh was down but then reopened.. decided to ride again becuase I could not remember the third Country Bear head's name (they are Buff, Melvin, and Max). Back to Adventureland and a ride on the Jungle Cruise. Quick shopping excursion to Main Street then back to Adventureland. Off to get a spot for Fantasmic. Watched the show then headed out for the evening..

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

** After you read this report you may want to check out the pictorial updates in our Disneyland Resort Pictorial Update section

A nice relaxing trip to the Disneyland resort. Was able to visit both parks and eat Dinner at ESPN. The parks were running on a reduced schedule both hours and entertainment wise. Disneyland closed at 10 and DCA at 8. And with the crowds I can see why. Both parks seemed quiet.

ESPN: Was a good dinner, managed to get a booth without even asking for it. The food came quick too this time.

We have moved our trip rundowns and mileage reports to our Park Miles section.

Disneyland Items:

  • The crowd felt like a typical offseason crowd. People milling around but no extremely long lines for anything. For most of the eveing Indy was under 20 minutes. Pooh at 5 minute waits only, so I guess the novelty has worn off (either that or we had good timing)

  • Still kind of sad to walk around the park with so much closed or gone forever.

  • Elvis was at Club Buzz, he put on a great show to probably a 2/3 full crowd.

  • No Believe this off season, just one showing of Fantasmic. Still a great show at 11 years old.

  • Frontierland was still mostly closed off due to the Thunder accident a few weeks ago. Seems like they should be able to open the walkway at least sometime soon. Just put up the rehab walls around the attraction.

  • The work on the Toontown skyline is progressing nicely and looking good.

DCA Items:

  • Mild crowd, did not look at attraction wait times really.
  • New show on the Backlot stage called DUH (Department of Untapped Hillarity). It reminded me a lot of Whose Line, some different games and no points. It had a couple people from the comedy troop that used to be in Condor Flats (guessing most of the cast is from over there). Overall I thought that it was OK. If I was in the area and it was going on I'd probably stop for a while. I don't see myself seeking it out or watching more than one show at a time. I still wish they would go back to the backlot theme of a stunt show like the original one. I am sure they could figure out a way to fix it so it was better than the original.
  • The park seemed kind of flat to me. Not that much activity.. might be due to the fact that I was only there for about an hour the entire evening.
