Trip Log:

Started off the day headin' for DCA. Made the loop through Condor Flats, by GRR, the Bay Aread and into Bugsland. Next off to the Backlot to see if Lucky is out, he wasn't going to come out. So finished the loop of the backlot and walked out to the Plaza for a while. Back down the Backlot and hiked up to the Balcony of the Hyperion for some Tower shots, then back down and out to the Pier. Went on our first attraction of the day, the Sun Wheel. Then finished the loop and back through GRR and over to Disneyland. Went up Main Street and through the Castle, out to Toontown. Went through Toontown and then back around the Matterhorn and out to Tomorrowland. Went through Innoventions and then across the park to Frontierland. Walked along the Rivers of America, grabbed a Pirates Fast Pass and then finished the walk and out through CC. Back through NOS and to see Billy Hill at the Golden Horseshoe. After the show back to Pirates then through Adventureland and over to DCA. Down the Backlot for one more loop and out of the park. Through DD and stopped at ESPN, a long line so bee lined to White Water Snacks for Dinner. After Dinner it was off to DCA. Walked around GRR for a while then to the Wharf to watch the band. After the show it was off to the Backlot and some RR and in the Animation Building's main room, then back for the second set at the Wharf, caught some of the MSEP (still hate to call it DEP) on the way out and over to Disneyland. Out to Tomorrowland to see that band, then around by the Matterhorn and over to Carnation. Down Main Street after,y caught Believe then headed home.

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

** After you read this report you may want to check out the pictorial updates in our Disneyland Resort Pictorial Update section

It was a great afternoon at the Disneyland resort. The weather was mild the crowds did not seem heavy and it was just a relaxing time. On arrival at the Resort I was a little worried as I got stuck in the last row on the 5th floor at 2pm... and the Lazygeek was on the roof a few minutes later.

We have moved our trip rundowns and mileage reports to our Park Miles section.

Disneyland Items:

  • Over at Disneyland it seemed much more crowded. The lines still were not too bad with around 30 minutes for Pirates and HM in the late afternoon

  • While on Pirates we spotted several of the newly painted boats, we saw three of them and were able to ride in one. It would be great if they repainted them all that way... looks much better than the 60s colors.

  • Pirates seemed to be much slower than usual. With the boat barely moving through most of the attraction. It was great because you got to see more of the details, but something seemed weird.

  • Speaking of Pirates, we had are nomination for the stupid person of the day, did not get a picture though. The group in front of us was a family. Mom, Dad, two kids both under 10. The mom and dad sat on the left side, with the smallest kid on the far right. Well throughout the attraction the kid kept standing up... and some of his timing was plain out scary, for example he stood up right before the first drop.. we were just about ready to reach out and push him down but luckily he plopped back into his seat just in time. Then at the end he kept putting his hands down into the water and the rails were close. Both the lazygeek and myself commented quite loudly several times throughout the attraction how you were to remain seated and hands inside the boat. The oblivious parents never got the drift and totall ignored both their kids the whole time... made for a stressful trip for us...oh well, some people will never learn and then if something was to happen they would probably sue Disney for millions...

  • Went to the Billy Hill show and it was great as usual. They had a fill in for one of zthe Billies. It appeared to be one of the Barncats from DCA.

DCA Items:

  • Headed to DCA first to see Lucky the dinosaur, its a new audioanimatronic figure from WDI.. a small crowd gathered close to show time. A couple CMs came out and said that Lucky would not be coming out at all on Friday and might be on Tuesday but they did not know.
  • There were Low Crowds at DCA all afternoon, picked up a bit in the evening. Soarin' and GRR were both around 20 minute waits at 2:00pm.
  • At the Wharf stage was a great Band, The Doo-Wah Riders. They played a nice mix of Classic Country and Oldies.. I really enjoyed the show and they drew some fairly decent crowds.
  • Over at GRR Geysers working again, but still not the ones in the flume, just the ones on the rocks.
  • The lines for the Aladdin shows were really long, almost to the point where they were during the first weeks of the show. Does that mean lots of Tourists or are APs ready to see it again?
  • We did the hike up to the Balcony level of the Hyperion to get some Tower construction shots. It seems to be closing in fast on finishing up the bulk of the construction. We saw them testing the center elevator shaft most of the afternoon. A little surprised to see the cars did not go much higher than the top set of doors. That leaves a lot of space above the cars... seems like much more than Florida.
