Trip Log:

Started off the day heading for a quick tour of DCA. Walked out to Bugs and around to the Pier. Back through GRR and down the Backlot. Then over to Dland. Met some friends out at the Hungry Bear. Walked out to look at Pooh and then back around the River to Pirates. 25 minute wait and we did.. next up the Mark Twain. Then around the trail, through Fantasyland and out to Toontown. Along the lagoon and through Tomorrowland and down Main Street for some shopping. Back to the cars and then to Disenyland. Grabbed a quick drink at Coke corner and then watched the college band set in front of the Castle. Wandered down Main Street to watch the Flag Retreat. Next up dinner at Award Weiners@DCA. Ended up finding a spot near Super Star Limo to eat. Then finished my backlot loop and out to the Peir to see what's new from the Sun Wheel. On the way got detoured with the Eagles group and then the draining of GRR. After the Sun Wheel finished the loop and back to the Wharf for the Bread tour. Went back through GRR to see if anything was going on and then grabbed a ride on Soarin'. After the tour through Bugsland one more time (drinking fountain was not as cool as usual) and then it was to the entrance plaza. Nothing going on so over to Disneyland to catch the College band's performance in front of the train station on Main Street. Down Main Street and out to NOS o catch Fantasmic. Then to MS for Believe. Finally wrapped up the day and headed for the car.

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

** After you read this report you may want to check out the pictorial updates in our Disneyland Resort Pictorial Update section

Summer has arrived and so have the crowds at the Disneyland resort. It was nothing totally unbearable, but most attractions at Disneyland had decent waits throughout the afternoon and evening. DCA was more crowded that usual, but still nothing to write home about.

Just want to do my normal complaining about the parking garage. It was ridiculus, I was about a dozen cars from the exit and was supposed to drive all the way around to get out... oh well... a good note, I managed to get some really entertaining tram CMs.

We have moved our trip rundowns and mileage reports to our Park Miles section.

Disneyland Items:

  • Most of the construction walls around the park are starting to come down as the park is in full summer mode. There was a lot of entertainment choices ranging from the College Band to Mambo dancing to Club Buzz to Fantasmic. You could easily occupy your evening with the groups around the parks.

  • The All American College Band is back again. Only one SC person in the band.. They are playing the same type of schedule:
    Fri/Sat/Tue-Thur: 4 Plaza Garden, 5:30 Castle Forecourt(Disney Tunes), 6:30 Town Square(Flag Retreat), 7:30 (pre-parade) 8:30 Main Street Train Station(variety set).
    Wed/Thur: 4:30 Plaza Gardens, 5:30 Castle Forecourt, 7:30 Tomorrowland

  • On our voyage aboard the Mark Twain someone asked to go up to the bridge to take a picture. The CM said that was not allowed anymore while the boat is in motion due to "Safety Issues".
  • Fantasmic was running, the show was great as usual. The film sections looked brighter and the fountains looked a little stronger. Other than that nothing jumped out as too different. The Little Mermaid barge did not go by. Also the Mark Twain had an extremely sparse offering of characters. My guess is this was due to the Island construction going on... I really hope they did not cut that out becuase of budget issues.

DCA Items:

  • There seemed to be a lot of teenagers in the park. I am guessing because of the KIIS FM event that was to take place after park closing.

  • From the Sun Wheel you could see a portion of the Timon lot blocked off. They were just installing the fence. Guess it only takes a couple weeks to install an arena. I really hope its covered. The concert series last year was nice, but way too hot and exposed to the sun.

  • Ate dinner at Award Weiners @ DCA. Total for a hot dog, fries, and cup of Ice water (tap water) was $5.81.. price was not my main point, everyone knows Disney is expensive, my issue is the hot dog sure seemed a lot smaller than the once I bought about six months ago there. The bun was still the large Deli roll, but the hot dog seemed dwarfed in it. Fries are still among the best on property.
