Trip Log:

Started off heading to DCA and to grab a fastpass for Aladdin. Walked the backlot and then over to Disneyland. Found a bench up by the train station to sit and wait for the lazygeek to arrive. Once he did we headed down Main Street through Adventureland and out to Critter Country. Then back along the Rivers of America and the trail to Fantasyland. Around through Tomorrowland and back down Main Street to DCA. Walked through Condor Flats, the Bay Area, the Wharf where we caught a couple numbers by Elvis.. well someone singing Elvis songs, then over to Bugsland and back to the vineyard. The Barncats came out so we watched a couple songs from them and then down the backlot to watch Aladdin. We sat front row Balcony in the dead center... great show as always. Afterwards its out to the Wharf to grab a bite to eat and watch Elvis, this time the whole set. After dinner and the show it was back to the parking structure to get warmer clothes. Back to DCA to catch the last set from the Red Hots, no Elvis this time. Then walked back through the Bay Area and out to the Grand Californian. Through Downtown Disney to ESPN to check some scores and then took the monorail over to Tomorrowland. Went in Innoventions to see if anything changed, nothing has really just the health area shut down. Next up out to Adventureland to see what the Jungle Cruise line looked like, too long for us, so out to Haunted Mansion which had no wait and Maynard working. Road it, our first ride of the day (besides the monorail). Back through Critter Country to see if Pooh was running at night, was not. Down through Adventureland and into the Tiki room, since the door was open. Caught the show and then headed down Main Street and back to the trams. Caught Believe from the parking structure and then headed home...

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

** After you read this report you may want to check out the pictorial updates in our Disneyland Resort Pictorial Update section

A nice relaxing trip to the Disneyland Resort was the agenda on Friday and we succeeded. Seems many others had the same idea as both parks had an increase in attendance from the previous weekend. We were really surprised by the number of people in Disneyland, we figured it would be a couple weeks till the Spring Break crowds arrive with Easter being so late this year.

We have moved our trip rundowns and mileage reports to our Park Miles section.

Disneyland Items:

  • Not too much new to report this week. I guess the biggest change is the opening of Critter Country again. As far as we could tell not too much had happened. Some new signs up and some of the construction walls removed. The Critter Country sign had also been put up again.
  • There were quite a few CMs around Pooh, not sure if they were going to do testing or anything. We walked by a couple of times and nothing was really going on. In the evening we noticed the ride was stopped but the show lights and some animations were on inside.
  • We are still disappointed in the lack of evening entertainment at the parks. We were trying to kill time waiting for believe and ended up checking out Innovations.
  • Not too much happening inside. It was fairly quiet as usual. They had walls up around the health care area, a new display is going in. No signs as to what it is.
  • We were somewhat annoyed going in. There were only two entrances working, and of course we just missed one. We talked to the CM and asked if we could be let in, he said no of course, so we had to wait 10 minutes and then watch the Tom Morrow video before being let in. We even explained that we were going to skip the CM talk inside no matter what... seems to me if they want to boost attendance numbers they should have an "express" entrance, maybe on the far left side loading area to allow guests to enter the building skipping the spiel. We would definitely take advantage of it more...
  • We stopped by the Tiki Room around 9pm and the show had a good crowd inside, nice to see.
  • The Rivers of America seem to be progressing, as we walked around we saw a lot of new concrete and work going on.
  • We ended up catching Believe from the garage again, wanted to get going to catch the end of the USC basketball game, which they won, only to loose Saturday...anyways... as I was watching I thought it would be nice if they piped the sound track in. There were several people standing around us and I know it would have been a nice addition.

DCA Items:

  • Hmm... nothing really to say about DCA.. just that I was really surprised to see them working on the Playhouse Disney queue cover during the day, it was extremely bad show.... kind of nice to see for us geeks though. One of the construction workers was jumping up and down on the roof.. it held, so that's good.
  • Caught Aladdin again and it was a full show, so that's nice to see. It seems that the audience is more AP's though. There was very little laughing at some of the jokes.
