Trip Log:

Started off heading for DCA and down the Backlot to see what is new.. not much. Next up back to the Sun Plaza to wait for the Lazygeek, who was way late. Once he arrived started off through Bugsland, then through the Wharf and around the Pier and through GRR and ove to Disneyland. Jumped on the train and took it to Toontown. Walked through Toontown and then Fantasyland. Saw there was no line for the Carrousel and since we had not been on it for years decided to take a spin. It took them forever to get it running. They finally did and then we headed over to Frontierland by way of the trail. Walked along the river all the way to the construction wall by Splash. Then back through New Orleans and up to see the Pirates exhibit. Then back through Adventureland and across the Parade of the Stars and into Tomorrowland. The Lazygeek went on Space Mountain since there was a 10 minute wait only. Then we walked around Tomorrowland and back to the hub to look down Main Street. Headed back over to DCA and out to the Wharf to grab dinner and then watch Fantastic Diamond. After the show it was off to the cars for clothing re-enforcements and back to DCA to catch the second Fantastic Diamond, hoping it was better than the first one. On the way out cruised through Bugsland again and road Fliks Flyers. Then back through the Bay Area, GRR, and Condor Flats. Caught MSEP (still hate to call it DEP) from near the Hollywood backlot. Then back to Disneyland. Walked down Main Street and out to adventureland and NOS. Went on Pirates, after the exhibit earlier we were in the mood. After we came out caught a band in NOS. Then back through Adventureland and over to Main Street. Went down the East side of the street shops and out to Downtown Disney. Walked through DD and into ESPN to check the scores. Then walked to M&F and caught Believe from there to end our day.

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

** After you read this report you may want to check out the pictorial updates in our Disneyland Resort Pictorial Update section

Overall we had a great trip to the Disneyland Resort. Crowds were light, weather was nice, and its Disneyland so how can you not have a good time.

One note about the guidebooks. I had a few moments to sit and wait, to pass the time I took a good look at the park guide. Has anyone took a careful look at the DCA Screamin' coaster in the luanch area... if not do it next time you pick up a guide. Then look at the coaster on the matterhorn track... they look somewhat similiar.... interesting.

We have moved our trip rundowns and mileage reports to our Park Miles section.

Disneyland Items:

  • The crowds were light most of the afternoon picking up slightly in the evening. In the afternoon it was less than 15minute wait times for most attractions.
  • The Pirates exhibit up at the Gallery was interesting. I also enjoy seeing he concept artwork. They had one room of painting from the upcoming film. Two notes here. One is the film looks like it has the potential to be very very dark. I understand its a pirate film and all but I am not sure if making it extremely dark is the right tone. Hope it doesn't turn out to be another Country Bears type film where the film actually hurts the impression of the attraction... The second note is all the movie paintings/sketches were digitally reproduced and labeled as such. My question is why? Couldn't they get their hands on some real items? Hopefully once shooting wraps up for the film they will get some more items and props or something.
  • We recommend to visit the gallery then go on the attraction. It was fun to compare/contrast.
  • Work on the rivers seems to be moving along nicely. They were out measuring heights or something with two steel rigs on Friday, not sure what was up with that.
  • Why don't they bring back live entertainment on Friday evenings in Disneyland... we really miss it.
  • The Lazygeek road Space Mountain, first time in a while. He said the sound track was down, no big surprise here, and that the ride seemed much rougher than he remembered it being.
  • Road the Carrousel to see if it was any different. It wasn't, still the same feel. There were two CM's who showed up, a maintance guy and some other CM and they went inside and stayed there for the ride then came out. No clue what they were up to.

DCA Items:

  • DCA seemed to have a much lighter crowd than our past few visits.
  • We caught two of the Fantastic Diamond shows out on the Wharf stage. They were ok. He sung an interesting variety of songs. The 7:15 set was much better than the 6:15 one in our books.
  • The survey taking CMs seemed to be out in force at the entrance/exit of both parks, especially DCA.
