Thought a good place to start is at the beginning.. so here is a look down on Waikiki (on the right) as we made our final approach into Honolulu International. This was around 11:15am. Ko Olina is approx 17 miles from the airport.
    Downtown Honolulu.
Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial is just slightly above the center of this shot.

My first view of Aulani. It is the darker set of towers just to the left of center in this picture.
A closer view. This was my only glimpse and was as we were making the u-turn to head back to the airport to land. I was on the wrong side of the plane for more pictures.
Diamond head was visible as we taxied to a gate.

The Ko Olina Golf Club is on the inland side as you enter the resort area. This course is used for an LPGA tournament each year.
There is a set of train tracks that features a scenic railway, we did not look into where it went, but here is a train passing by.

Taken on a later day from one of the towers this will give a littler perspective on where we are.. in the distance you can see Diamond Head. Below is the golf course.

You cannot walk through this area.. there are signs saying cast members only. I thought maybe you could reach the lobby but no such luck.

To the right in this picture you can see the entrance to the self parking garage. Up the driveway to the left is the lobby.
Time to walk toward the lobby.

    Signage along the way.
This is the pedestrian entrance to the self parking area.
It is an automated facility. Parking was not a problem. On Friday and Saturday night it looked fairly crowed as many other events were going on, but usually cars were spaced out unless you wanted to be right near the entrance.

The rates. Makes parking in the parks seem cheap.
    The machine you pay at.
Sample of the parking signage. Once back I realized I never took a picture of the actual parking area..

But I did the trash cans for those of you who enjoy those.
The walkway to the resort from the garage. You could continue straight and slightly left and reach the lobby or make a right past the fenced area and enter the tower.
Signage along the walkway to help you. That concludes this first look at Aulani. Be sure to check out my other pictorial sections for a more in depth look at other parts of the resort.
