This was a great trip to the Disneyland Resort. The traffic was light getting there, the crowds were mild at best in the parks, and the weather was perfect.

Upon arriving at the resort the parking situation seemed different. First off the made you merge left instead of right when coming off the overpass. Then after getting through the ticket booths there seemed to be a steady stream of cars coming in from the gate near Downtown Disney. I later discovered the reason for this was the Timon lot was closed and cars were directed around to M&F. I was surprised to see the Timon lot closed. This was my first visit with that experience. A guest of our site after reading my comments yesterday dropped me an email saying the new policy is to have the lot closed on slow days. One other interesting parking note. We met up with a late comer around 6ish in the garage. They arrived and parked nearby. They commented on how when they pulled in downstairs there was no one working the booth to take their pass and give a parking ticket. So they just drove in. There were also no CM's guiding them to a level, they were able to choose and just pull in and find a spot. That seemed really strange to me.

As you can tell from my comments below, most of the afternoon/evening was spent at Disneyland...

Disneyland:

• A s I mentioned above, Disneyland seemed very quiet. For example at 4 in the afternoon Indy had a 10 minute wait...
• As you saw in the pictorial update from this trip, Tomorrowland is a maze of walls as they work on repaving. On my couple of passes through the area the construction really did not seem to cause any problems with traffic flow.
• I did not get a picture of it, but the Honey I Shrunk the Audience queue was walled off and you had to use the first set of doors to get in (no preshow going on either). When we went on (around 8ish I think) there were not too many people (most rows had one or two groups only). The theater really had an "old" feeling to it. I think it may be time for something new there. Also I noted that no one was laughing at the jokes either...
• Stopped by Innoventions twice to see if the Segways were out... does anyone know if they are still doing the rides and if so what the schedule is??
• Tomorrowland was really quite dead after dark. There was no band at Club Buzz... I don't know why they cannot continue to have a band there or over at Carnation on Friday nights.. where as Saturday nights they have one at both places...
• Speaking of entertertainment, it was great to see the Disneyland Band playing an afternoon set. Several characters showed up around show time and interacted with guests. With the low crowd the characters really got to ham it up and spend time with each guest that was around. Goofy did a great job... hope this is going to be a semi-regular occurance.
• We took a spin on the Tea Cups and thought they seemed harder to turn than we remembered... not sure if its us or them, but our bet is on them since they were down for rehab right before the holidays.
• Pooh seemed to be giving the CMs some problems in the load area when we went on. It seemed to be backing up cars, not sure if it was the attraction or the CMs causing the problem.
• Since there were no fireworks, Fantasmic had to fill in. The show just doesn't have the same grand finale without the Mark Twain..

DCA:

• No when Disneyland has a mild crowd, DCA feels dead. The few times I saw a line board the longest was 15 minutes.
• Tower of Terror's exterior looks just about finished. It looked as if they were finishing up the landscaping and the final touches on the street out front. Backstage the parking lot is is done and they are planting new trees along the tramway to the Timon lot. It looked as if most of the trailers out back are gone now too. When we walked by only the left shaft was being tested and that was very sparatic. Still no lighting after dark...
