Disney Tanabata Days at Tokyo Disney Resort June 15 to July 7, 2017URAYASU, CHIBA - Tokyo Disney Resort announced that the program "Disney Tanabata Days" will be offered at Tokyo Disneyland Park and Tokyo DisneySea Park from June 15 through July 7, 2017. This program gives a Disney touch to Tanabata, the traditional Japanese event also known as the Star Festival. Guests can also enjoy the Tanabata atmosphere at Disney Ambassador Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Ikspiari and on the Disney Resort Line. Guests can experience this seasonal program in a manner unique to Tokyo Disney Resort.The Disney Characters will greet Guests in "Tanabata Greeting" at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Mickey Mouse and his friends will offer their greetings dressed in new costumes themed to Tanabata. At Tokyo Disneyland, a Wishing Place will be set up in the center of World Bazaar. There, Guests can write their hopes and wishes on Wishing Cards and tie them onto the Tanabata decorations just as the Disney Characters have done. For the first time this year, the Tanabata decorations at the Wishing Place will feature special lighting effects, enhancing the festive atmosphere even more. Along the parade route, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will ride on rickshaws to greet Guests. At Tokyo DisneySea, Guests will find a Wishing Place set up at Hudson River Docks in the New York area of American Waterfront. Mickey Mouse and his Disney pals will appear on a boat in Mediterranean Harbor to greet Guests in "Tanabata Greeting." Both Parks will offer special merchandise for the occasion, including items with designs of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in Tanabata costumes, as well as items with a motif of Tanabata decorations. In addition, Guests making purchases amounting to 3,000 yen or more in a single transaction that includes a designated special merchandise item will receive an original Wishing Card. Guests will be able to enjoy special dishes that reflect both the season and the Tanabata theme. In addition, special menus that come with an original Wishing Card will be offered. Also, the Disney Ambassador Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta and the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will offer special menus which will be available during a limited period. Moreover, Guests can enjoy the Tanabata atmosphere at the four Disney Resort Line stations and at Ikspiari where original Wishing Cards will be distributed to Guests. Tanabata Greeting Dressed as Hikoboshi (Altair) and Orihime (Vega), the two star-crossed sweethearts of this festival, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be joined by their Disney pals and the Disney Princesses and Princes on a boat for "Tanabata Greeting." As the traditional Tanabata song is heard, Mickey and his friends will offer their greetings and their hopes that the dreams and wishes of all the Guests will come true.

SPECIAL MENUS In addition, Guests can enjoy shaved ice inspired by Hikoboshi at Rackety's Raccoon Saloon in Tokyo Disneyland and at Liberty Landing Diner in Tokyo DisneySea. Shaved ice inspired by Orihime will be offered at Space Place FoodPort in Tokyo Disneyland and at Sultan's Oasis in Tokyo DisneySea. At Tokyo DisneySea, Barnacle Bill's and Nautilus Galley will offer a special cocktail inspired by Tanabata. Merchandise and menu items are subject to change without notice. Also, some items will only be available while the supply lasts.
Disney Hotels The restaurants and lounges at the Disney Ambassador Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta and the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will be serving special menus themed to "Disney Tanabata Days." Guests ordering certain menu items at some of these restaurants and lounges will receive a Wishing Card designed exclusively for the hotel. The Wishing Card can be tied to a Wishing Place set up at the Parks. Disney Resort Line Resort Gateway Station on the Disney Resort Line will welcome Guests with a photo spot themed to "Disney Tanabata Days," and original Wishing Cards with designs inspired by the monorail's hand strap will be distributed at all four Disney Resort Line stations. Guests can write their wishes on them and then tie them to the Wishing Places. Ikspiari A Tanabata event will also be held at Ikspiari. Wishing Cards will be distributed to Guests at Ikspiari in commemoration of its anniversary on July 7, the day of Tanabata. Guests can write their wishes and hang the cards on the bamboo branches set up for this summer festival. Restaurants and shops will offer special merchandise and menus to celebrate Ikspiari's 17th anniversary. |
