New Year's at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea
January 1 – 5, 2016
URAYASU, CHIBA—Tokyo Disney Resort® will offer special programs for the New Year's holiday from January 1 through 5, 2016 at Tokyo Disneyland® Park and Tokyo DisneySea® Park. The main program at both Parks will be "New Year's Greeting." Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Disney characters will be dressed in kimono to greet Guests and celebrate the New Year with a festive atmosphere. To honor the Year of the Monkey, traditional Japanese New Year's decorations at the entrance to Tokyo Disneyland will feature King Louie* and Monkeys, while Abu** will be found at Tokyo DisneySea. New Year's merchandise and menu items will also feature designs of these characters. The Monkeys and Abu will appear in "New Year's Greeting" to greet Guests. Celebrate the start of a new year filled with joy at Tokyo Disney Resort!

* King Louie and the Monkeys are characters from the Disney film The Jungle Book.
** Abu is a character from the Disney film Aladdin.


TOKYO DISNEYLAND PARK

"New Year's Greeting"
Location: Parade Route
Performances: 2 Daily
Duration: Approximately 35 minutes
Outline: Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in kimono will appear with the Monkeys and Abu, the Disney characters representing the Year of the Monkey. They will wish everyone a happy start to the New Year as they circle the Parade Route aboard the LiMOUSEine II decorated just for holiday.

Decorations
The kadomatsu, a traditional New Year's decoration, at the entrance to World Bazaar will feature King Louie and Monkeys to honor the Year of the Monkey.

Note: The kadomatsu will be displayed through January 7, 2016


TOKYO DISNEYSEA PARK

"New Year's Greeting"
Location: Mediterranean Harbor
Performances: 3 Daily
Duration: Approximately 15 minutes
Outline: Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in kimono and their Disney friends appear on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor riding aboard a "2016" barge to give their New Year's greetings to the Guests. Monkeys and Abu, representing the Year of the Monkey will appear as well.

Decorations
The kadomatsu, a traditional New Year's decoration, at the entrance to Passaggio MiraCosta will feature Abu to honor the Year of the Monkey.

Note: The kadomatsu will be displayed through January 7, 2016.


TOKYO DISNEYLAND / TOKYO DISNEYSEA

Merchandise
Park shops will offer approximately 60 different types of New Year's merchandise. New this year will be plush badges of Abu, representing the Year of the Monkey. Other items include New Year greeting cards featuring King Louie, Monkeys and Abu, in addition to Mickey and Minnie, dressed in kimono, and their Disney friends. Guests will also find hand towels; Mickey-shaped stacked boxes filled with assorted sweets; Mickey-motif or Minnie-motif daruma (Japanese good luck doll); strap sets and Japanese tenugui towels with designs of Mickey-inspired monkey daruma along with other items designed with Japanese New Year's decorations.

Also offered is the "Wishing Bottle," an accessory that can be customized by selecting different parts of your choice.
Note: Merchandise will be available from Nov. 13, 2015. The "Wishing Bottle," available from Dec. 26, will only be sold at Tokyo Disneyland.


MENUS
Guests can enjoy a sesame mousse decorated with sweet black beans and chestnut cream that comes in a souvenir cup shaped like a Japanese tea cup. The cups have a design of Mickey and Minnie dressed in kimono, as well as King Louie and Abu. Popcorn buckets with a design of Mickey-motif daruma will also be sold.
Note: Special Menus will be available from Dec. 26, 2015.


DISNEY HOTELS
The Disney Ambassador® Hotel and the Tokyo Disneyland® Hotel will both offer special New Year's menus for a limited period. The special menus will feature dishes inspired by the Mickey-motif daruma and kadomatsu decorations.

Note: The special menus at the Disney hotels will be available from December 26, 2015.


Park Operations on January 1, 2016
Both Parks will be open for regular operations starting from 9:00 a.m. on January 1.
Please note that special operating hours will be in effect from 8:00 p.m. on December 31, 2015 until 7:00 a.m. on January 1, 2016, and require exclusive Passport tickets for admission. The exclusive tickets are no longer available for sale.
