Shanghai Disney Resort Tops Out New Disneyland Hotel Releases New Images of Resort Development/Construction In the lead-up to the Chinese Spring Festival, this week Shanghai Disney Resort celebrated the topping out of the 420-room signature Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, just 12 months after its vertical construction began. Designed to be the signature hotel of Shanghai Disney Resort, the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will have an elegant Art Nouveau style with a touch of Disney magic and imagination. The hotel will offer guests stunning views of Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and the resort’s central lake. Disney also released new aerial photos of the resort’s two themed hotels – Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel — and a first look at progress on a major attraction — Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure — at the Shanghai Disneyland park. The attraction will be the centerpiece of Treasure Cove, the first Pirates-themed land, and will employ the latest technology in bringing this new land to life. Vertical construction of Shanghai Disney Resort began in October 2013, and the resort has celebrated numerous construction milestones since then, including the topping out of the resort’s first building in Disneytown in December 2013, Toy Story Hotel in January 2014 and most recently the resort’s iconic mountain in December 2014. In April 2014, the resort’s shareholders jointly announced an accelerated expansion plan to capitalize on the tremendous growth in China’s tourism sector – adding additional attractions, entertainment and other offerings to increase capacity at the theme park on opening day. # # # The Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will be the signature hotel of the Shanghai Disney Resort. The Shanghai Disneyland Hotel was recently successfully topped out, just 12 months after vertical construction of the hotel started. This marks another successful key construction milestone in the resort’s development. The Toy Story Hotel will feature 800 rooms and immerse guests in a world inspired by the toys from the Disney•Pixar series of Toy Story animated films. The Toy Story Hotel was topped out in January 2014, an important construction milestone in the resort’s development. For the first time ever, a Disney Park will be home to a Pirates-themed land—Treasure Cove—and a major attraction called Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure. An international team of Disney Imagineers and local contractors in China are working collaboratively to build the resort. They are using advanced technologies and construction techniques to complete Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure, an all-new high-technology boat ride attraction. |
