Disneyland Resort “Celebrate Gospel!” Event Honors Black History Month
ANAHEIM, CALIF. February 22, 2010 – In celebration of Black History Month, 14 Southern California gospel choirs performed Saturday, February 19 at the Disneyland Resort's second annual "Celebrate Gospel!" event. Choirs from Los Angeles to San Diego came together at Disney California Adventure park for a day-long celebration of music and culture. The choirs were selected by an advisory board consisting of 25 members of the gospel community, including Cal State Fullerton Musicologist Stan Breckenridge. During the event, the Disneyland Resort presented a $1,500 scholarship to a student of music at Cal State Fullerton. Throughout the day, more than 3,000 guests attended the celebration.
