Wyland and Disneyland Resort Celebrate Debut of Oceans, Earth Day at Downtown Disney
ANAHEIM, Calif. – April 22, 2010 – Downtown Disney celebrated Earth Day today with a visit from renowned environmental artist Wyland, who was on hand for the debut of the new Disneynature film “Oceans.” Wyland painted with guests and local students and spoke to them about the importance of conserving water and protecting the oceans. The Disneyland Resort donated $15,000 to The Wyland Foundation for its efforts in teaching children and families around the country about the importance of healthy oceans and waterways. Throughout the day, guests created their own paintings dedicated to marine life and visited the Wyland Clean Water Mobile Learning Center – a 1,000-square-foot exhibit that encourages individuals to become more aware of how they can make a difference in preserving natural water and keeping it clean.
