Disneyland Resort Debuts New Luxury Spa, Hotel Renovations
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel A new luxury spa facility, Mandara Spa, is scheduled to open at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel in March 2006. As spas become an increasingly important amenity at any resort, the Disneyland Resort will introduce, Mandara Spa, a new, larger spa that replaces the Eureka Springs Health Club that was previously at the hotel. This new spa will blend the hotel’s distinctive Arts and Crafts architectural style with signature contemporary-Balinese elements. The main spa facility will be comprised of treatment rooms and a couple’s suite accented with Balinese-inspired art and textiles. Additional spa features include a fitness center, men's and women's changing lounges, steam rooms and a sophisticated “nail spa,” offering a complete array of services in a single setting. A full complement of spa offerings, custom tailored for the unique California setting and spa environment will be available to guests. The new spa increases the amenities available at the hotel. Mandara Spa operates spas and salons worldwide on 121 cruise ships, 54 resort spas and two luxury day spas. Their top quality European line of beauty products are also distributed worldwide to exclusive hotels, salons, health clubs and destination spas. “We are extremely pleased that Mandara will operate the new luxury spa facility in our award-winning Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel,” said Tony Bruno, vice president, Disneyland Resort Hotels. “This spa will further enhance the Disneyland Resort as a complete vacation destination, and it is the perfect complement to the many world-class experiences that guests can enjoy throughout our Resort.” The guest rooms at the elegant Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel will also receive renovations, which will be completed over the next six months. Highlights include new pillow top beds and overall touch-ups in all guest rooms. All suites and guest rooms at concierge level will feature new flat screen televisions, upgraded bedding including new duvets and bedspreads, new desks, nightstands, mirrors and armoires and bunk bed lighting.
Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel The fun, Southern California beach atmosphere found at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will be enhanced by two significant renovations. The hotel’s Pacific Ballroom will feature an entirely new look with new wall covering, carpet and paint. This remodeling is scheduled to be completed over the 2006 summer season. Yamabuki, the hotel’s signature Japanese cuisine restaurant, will boast an entirely updated look with an enhanced sushi bar, refurbished bar/lounge area, new artwork, added booth seating, new wall covering, paint and lighting. These renovations are scheduled for September 2006.
The Disneyland Hotel The Cove Pool area at the original Disneyland Hotel will receive an entirely new look. New landscaping, tiki torch lights and a thatched roof hut will transform the Cove Pool into an adult-friendly tropical "adventureland" setting, also great for themed, private parties during the evening. The Cove Pool will also gain a new spa. The Neverland Pool’s spa will be converted into a kiddy pool. The Disneyland Hotel will also introduce a new concierge lounge, which will provide a more sophisticated guest experience. The new lounge will be introduced with a new design, artwork, lighting and additional lounge fixtures. |
