Toy Story (Blu-ray)

General Information:

Media Type: Home Video
Type: DVD - Special Edition
Release Date: 2010-03-23

Geek's Thoughts: The original Toy Story film released in high definition with additional bonus material. The Blu-ray disc contains a crisp high definition version of the film, all the original DVD bonus material, then some new bonus features.

The new bonus features are:
Toy Story 3 Sneak Peek - The Story
Buzz Lightyear Mission Logs Blast off
Paths to Pixar Artists
Studio Stories: John's Car, Baby AJ, Scooter Races
Buzz Takes Manhattan
Black Friday The Toy Story You Never Saw

I was a little disappointed in the bonus material on the disc. I was hoping to see a more in depth look at things instead it was the normal couple minute clips. The sneak peak at Toy Story 3 revealed nothing new. Most of the clips and even the narrative for the most part I had seen/heard already. I really did enjoy the Buzz Mission Log and the balloon in the parade stories. I found the Paths to Pixar segment to be really interesting too. I would have liked to have seen real images or video for the Pixar Stories segment too.

I was kind of surprised there was no mention of the theme park attraction on either disc. I would have thought this would be a natural tie in and great feature. Also wonder why there were not digital copies of the film included this time around. It seems all the other recent releases have.

Lastly I was kind of hoping for new trailers or different ones. The ones on the two discs as well as the Princess and the Frog were basically the same, nothing stood out.
