Geek's Thoughts: This is the second in an ongoing series from Disney Historian Jim Korkis. The book is in the same format as the first volume. It is a collection of short stories on various Disney subjects. The stories are divided into chapters based on Walt, Films, Theme Park, and then everything else. The book contains 28 stories spanning its 200+ pages.

 

This time around I had read/heard several of the stories covered in the book. I found it an interesting read and having the stories documented and presented in a consistent fashion is nice. I really enjoy the Park stories but this time around I had heard/read most of what is covered in that chapter already unfortunately. They were great reads but I was hoping for something new. The parks chapter included - the Partners Statue, Storybook Land, Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough, Spaceship Earth 1982, Epcot Fountain, Captain EO and the Jungle Cruise.

I thought the tribute to Roy that closes the book was really well done and sheds some light on the other Disney brother who was there working with Walt through most of his career. The chapter looks at the role Roy played in the completion of Walt Disney World.
