Geek's Thoughts: If you want to learn about the history of Disneyland, how the park evolved in concept and then execution over the years going from Walt's original concepts and motivations through the planning and construction of the park, its initial years and growth and then as it matured and evolved after Walt. To its expansion to a Resort finishing up in 2012 with the relaunch of Disney California Adventure. This should be a must read on your list. It is a well sourced history of the park and its attractions. Included within you get some details on each attraction as well as its history. It is not a quick read, it is nearly 400 pages long but with only a couple pages of pictures at the very beginning but in those 400 pages you get a very rich and detailed history of the park. Many of the stories you have heard/read but having them in a single book and chronological order helps to give them context.
