Geek's Thoughts: What disney geek out there does not know Dave Smith? If you do not you should.. he is the retired chief archivist of the Walt Disney Company. Over the years Dave has been the go to person for Disney trivia and he has had many columns published in various publications. This book takes many of these questions and puts them into a single publication. Dave started answering guest questions back in 1983 in the Disney Channel Magazine and his Ask Dave column has appeared in the Disney Magazine, on the Disney Insider, as well as in D23 emails and on various Disney Co. websites.

This book contains the original question as well as his replies (including updates/revisions). The book is organized into broad categories - Animated Features, Animated Shorts, Disneyland, Live-Action Films, Publications, Television, Walt Disney World, and wraps up with Walt Disney. I really enjoyed reading through the book and scary to admit I remember reading many of these before. I made a little game of it and tried to see how many I could answer without reading the answer.. I did decent in the parks not so good in the other categories.

The only complaint I have about the book is that there is no index or sub organization so if you want to use it as reference you are stuck thumbing through an entire section to find what you are looking for. I would have liked to at least seen the parks organized by park/land and maybe the others by year of the topic. Something to help find the question and more importantly answer later so you can use it as a reference book. I am sure many of you are like me and you read it once then want to go back and look it up/verify it later.
