More scaffolding and toothpicks are removed from some of the first spires to rise above Black Spire Outpost on Batuu
  • Page Number: 2
Panning to the right spires are still awaiting the wire mesh and concrete.
Not a lot of visible change this week.
The crane was lifting more wire mesh for rock formations.
  • Page Number: 3
The wire mesh is starting to be installed on the steel structure.
A closer look at one of the spires.

A closer look at the new wire mesh being installed.
The blue tarps are still up toward Critter Country.
  • Page Number: 7
A better view of the spires that are starting to emerge from the scaffolding.
  • Page Number: 8
Backstage trees are placed near the Battle Escape building. Kind of interesting for a backstage area. Wonder if this will be a break area or something for cast members? The trees appear to be placed not just temporarily staged there.
Not a lot of visible progress on the doorway. Outside scaffolding stacked up. Hard to tell if it is waiting to go in or be taken away.
A closer look at the new mesh.
  • Page Number: 9
A wider picture of the area to end.
Moving on to check out the parking structure project. This is the view from near the escalators.
  • Page Number: 10
Here is a video clip overview of the site today.
A closer look at the project starting near Disneyland Drive and panning to the right. You can see support columns are poured for the area near where the escalators will be. Temporary support structures are staged and ready to be set up for the 2nd floor.
To the right you can see the support structures being set up.
  • Page Number: 11
As you look across the site columns are rising throughout.
  • Page Number: 12
The design appears similar to the Mickey and Friends with cylinder shaped supports on the interior and square on the perimeter of each section of the structure.
A closer look at one of the columns. You can see where the second floor will be.
  • Page Number: 13
Rebar is being installed for the roadbed of the ramps that taking shape
  • Page Number: 14
Throughout the site you can see wood over top of holes that were drilled for support columns. Also supplies staged and ready to go.
A team working on the foundation for this corner of the structure.
    From the escalator.
  • Page Number: 15
Approaching the parks on the tram. Not a lot of visible progress on this side of Naples.
  • Page Number: 16
The kiosk is still walled off. The podium appears to be for DVC (I did not walk over to see for sure).. so maybe this will be a future DVC kiosk?
First stop today Disney California Adventure.
    Buena Vista Street
  • Page Number: 17
Assuming they are working on the railings but you could not really tell.
Five was performing without their car and without Dime this afternoon.
Some Disney California Adventure Waits as of 1:17pm. Noticed they removed the Critter Carousel since it does not open until 2019. Incredicoaster wait time seemed comparable what Screamin was on days like this.
  • Page Number: 18
FastPass distribution for Radiator Springs Racers has been relocated to Cars Land since this area will be walled off soon to start a Marvel project. I was surprised the sign was still up and not covered at least.
A check of this seasons grape crop.
  • Page Number: 19
Pixcar Film Festival photo op for Pixar Fest at the entrance to Cars Land.
Route 66 in Cars Land this afternoon.
Took a quick walk through the Blue Sky Cellar. Nothing jumped out at me as changed. So you get a preview of the area that opened last week mostly. Nice to see the concept art and evolution but was hoping for an update.
  • Page Number: 20
Walking through Bugs Land. A sign and barrier up on this side of the FastPass distribution but no other indications or signage for the new location.
  • Page Number: 21
The line for Flos was out the door, it was 1:30pm. If you have not tried mobile order I would recommend giving it a shot if you see a line like this.
This is the area now used for Radiator Springs Racers FastPass distribution. They roll carts out. It had concluded for the day already.
    Ornament Valley.

This will be my first visit to Pixar Pier. It opened last Saturday. Thursday and Friday were media, invited guest and events. So this was my first opportunity to visit.
Two of three World of Color platforms were at show level this afternoon and some testing was underway.
    The Pixar Pal-A-Round
  • Page Number: 23
The entrance sign is incomplete. Eventually a Luxo Jr. figure will be added to the center.
The Lamplight Lounge lower level outdoor seating.
  • Page Number: 24

    A closer look.

The back of the entrance sign.
  • Page Number: 28
Some of the offerings at the lounge.
  • Page Number: 29

The side of the lounge building is rather plain now compared to what it used to feature. Guests sitting on the ground in the shade, most enjoying their ice cream.
The former cove bar entrance is now just an exit only. For the Lamplight Lounge there is just a single entrance.
  • Page Number: 30
This side of knick's knacks features the same sign.
    Looking back toward the entrance.
  • Page Number: 31
Looking over at the Incredicoaster and beyond the Anaheim convention center. It would have been nice to see a taller structure to block out more of the outside world..
A fair number of guests exploring the Pier this afternoon.
Some Pixar inspired umbrellas shade a portion of the queue for the Adorable Snowman
  • Page Number: 32
Between the queue for the ice cream and for the coaster the new billboards are a challenge to get a clear picture of.
  • Page Number: 33
This was the end of the single rider queue.
    Looking back.
  • Page Number: 34
    Incredicoaster launching.
The water effect is a nice plus.
The carousel is walled off and features a tarp now. It is scheduled to return in 2019.

A closer look at the shade structures.
  • Page Number: 37
Trashcans in the area feature an Incredicoaster logo.. interesting not something for the Incredibles neighborhood.. just the attraction.
I wanted to take a picture of the new water feature.. but Edna was set up in front so not easy to get a picture. Here is the logo on the feature.

You can still view your on ride photo and get the number but there is no longer a register or cast members. You have to do it all online.
  • Page Number: 42
    Incredicoaster exit sign.
The other side of the building.
  • Page Number: 43
The restroom area has been repainted. No new artwork though.
One of the structures along the water is for FastPass distribution for both Toy Story & Incredicoaster. The other is open as a seating area. As of right now no large signs telling you this.
There are smaller signs that look rather temporary set up near the entrance.
  • Page Number: 44
Also a warning sign for the attraction.
The FastPass machines are rather generic and have a label on them so you know what is currently being distributed.
  • Page Number: 45
The side of Poultry Palace appears to be incomplete.. seems like some graphic is missing from the top.
  • Page Number: 46
    An Incredicoaster launch..
  • Page Number: 47
The front of Poultry Palace appears to be missing signage too.
  • Page Number: 48
    The offerings of the palace.
The Toy Story area trash cans feature clouds and no labels.
The menu did not have any apples..
  • Page Number: 49
A photo op of a toy Zurg has been added.. but guests seem to like to use it as a lean post or table instead.
    Buzz Churros.
Thought the alignment of the wheel from this angle was interesting..
  • Page Number: 50
Several trees and seating areas have been added to the Pier. Great to have places to sit and once the trees grow some more shade.. but it does make the area feel much smaller now with the more narrow walkway.
  • Page Number: 51
No real shade or seating for the performance area though.
  • Page Number: 52
The Pixarmonic Orchestra has been relocated to the Pier. It seemed to be an awkward space for both the performers and guests.
The Pixar Pal-A-Round. Nothing done to the backside of the wheel. (beyond the repainting). Wait times were 45-60 minutes throughout my visit so I did not go for a spin.
The games are now called the Games of Pixar Pier. First up Bullseye Stallion Stampede.
  • Page Number: 53
    The prizes.
  • Page Number: 54
A video clip of a race.
Next door Heimlich's Candy Corn Toss
  • Page Number: 55
  • Page Number: 56
    Wall-E Space Race
  • Page Number: 57
Last up the La Luna Star Catcher
  • Page Number: 58
  • Page Number: 59
The queue for Toy Story. On the left/back is the FastPass return.
Standby at 75 min. Guess a large ratio of FastPass returns.
  • Page Number: 60
Passed by Zurg again and he was free (well guests camped out next to him but I could get a picture at least).
I now get the real apples reference I noticed early.. the Apple Juice Box.. but they do not sell apple juice boxes.. or at least I did not see any on the menu.
  • Page Number: 61
  • Page Number: 62
Not all signs have been repainted or a changed color scheme.
Jessie meeting guests in front of Toy Story Midway Mania
  • Page Number: 63
The hot dog stand is now Angry Dogs.
  • Page Number: 64
    The popcorn cart.
Current buckets and containers for popcorn.
  • Page Number: 65
A meet and greet near the wheel. Dug was out as I walked by. Surprised no shade for the characters.
A closer look at one of the new benches.
Russell was on his way out.
  • Page Number: 66
Some traditional benches are still available. Notice the new planter behind it.
  • Page Number: 67
Lights and speakers for the band shell really get in the way of the view.
Generic Pixar Pier logos on the trash cans here.
    A better picture of Dug
  • Page Number: 68
A Pixar water feature. Looks to be similar to the one in Tomorrowland just a different design.
  • Page Number: 69
    More planters and some seating.
The walkways are a mix of designs and textures.
Bing Bong's is opening in July. The facade lighting and signage are being installed.
  • Page Number: 70
  • Page Number: 71
  • Page Number: 72
A standard out door vending cart down this side of the Pier.
  • Page Number: 73
The planter is nice to break up the area.. but the color choice channels Anger :)
The queue cover for the wheel has been replaced and some new umbrellas. No other changes visible from here. I did not ride due to the long wait and my lack of patience.
  • Page Number: 74
  • Page Number: 75
Moving on down the Pier a wall is up where the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will open in 2019. Appears nothing is going on right now in terms of construction.
Finally reached the end of Pixar Pier. Seems it would have been nice to add a sign on this side of the pier too.
  • Page Number: 76
Five got Rhythm performing on the Paradise Garden Bandstand. Here is a clip from their set.
The Pixar Pals photo op is still set up but no pals today.. they have all relocated to the Pier.
Guests at the movie post photo op. The only really active Pixar Fest component in the area.
  • Page Number: 77
Even though this area is now Paradise Gardens Park the trash cans are still Paradise Pier.
The extended queue for the Little Mermaid was in use.
  • Page Number: 78
Hmm.. the line for FasPass return for Grizzly River Run was backed up to nearly Redwood Creek. You could just barely see the bear from the end.
  • Page Number: 79

Roof work underway at the Tropical Hideaway.
Paid a visit to the Jungle, waited only about 5 minutes.
  • Page Number: 83
In person you could see a little of the work through the scrim.. but not in my pictures..
Next up the Mark Twain. Passing by New Orleans Square.
  • Page Number: 84
A look at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge from the top deck of the Mark Twain.

Next up a visit to the Haunted Mansion.
Decided to give the Play Disney Parks App a try. So loaded it up before using my FastPass.
  • Page Number: 90
I selected the Haunted Mansion then went for a ride.
Eventually (several minutes after riding and me clicking that I had ridden) the achievement showed up.
So I now have one.. I did not spend any other time in the app this trip..
  • Page Number: 91
A look from Critter Country at the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
  • Page Number: 92
Preparations continue for FastPass at Pirates of the Caribbean. A new sign is added to the left of the entrance.
Looks like this will be for the FastPass distribution return times.
    The backside of the sign.
  • Page Number: 93
In Frontierland the backstage gate near the Stage Door Cafe has been changed. They are still completing the project. A new mural is being painting.

Decided to take a walk through Downtown Disney. The half of World of Disney closest to the park closed a few weeks ago. Here is a look at the entrance facing the parks.
    The windows along the walkway.
  • Page Number: 102
A look at the Naples work.
  • Page Number: 103
A sign for Sanuk in the walkway reminding people they are open.
They had someone and some merchandise outside the store too.
  • Page Number: 104
Starbucks is now closed (the newest one closest to the hotel/monorail).
  • Page Number: 105
The Disney Vacation Club store is closed too.
  • Page Number: 106
Earl of Sandwich closed this past week too. So now there is nothing open between the Monorail and Disneyland Hotel.
  • Page Number: 107
The stage is still there but not a lot of guests in the area.
ESPN still has the video screens on.
Saw reporting online that this security checkpoint will close July 2nd. So I am assuming that means this entire area will be walled off then so demolition work can begin.
  • Page Number: 108
The stage featured a couple of DJs this evening and there were a handful of guests in the area.
  • Page Number: 109
A section of the parking lot is fenced off and appears to be a staging area for the upcoming project (this is taken through a Monorail window so the color is off.
Looks to be material for the walls that will soon be going up.
  • Page Number: 110
Walking through Tomorrowland the stage has been converted for the evening's Pixar Pals Dance Party (during the day Star Wars Jedi Training still happens here).

  • Page Number: 117
I returned to Disney California Adventure and Pixar Pier to see the lights taking effect as the sun set.
Some of the lights on the signs were not on. Not sure if that was because I was there early or they are just not working yet.
  • Page Number: 118
Queue tapped off on the ground. This is for the Incredicoaster single rider.
  • Page Number: 119
  • Page Number: 120
