  • Page Number: 1
A video overview of the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge construction site.
    An overview of the site.
Starting off on the north/left side of the site with the Millennium Falcon show building. Some activity along the road, but no real visible changes since last visit.
  • Page Number: 2
Panning to the right. More steel going up for lower portions of the rock work. Also notice the red border is starting to be added to the building.
Continuing to the right and the Battle Escape Show Building. The red border is about half way down the side along Disneyland Drive now.
  • Page Number: 3
More steel and wire mesh being added to the top of the Battle Escape Building and the park side.
  • Page Number: 4
Jumping back to the Millennium Falcon building and a tighter shot of the area.
The three peaks above the building. Not a lot of visible change this visit.
  • Page Number: 5
More steel support structures rising in the foreground.
A structure on the roof starting to take shape and beyond it the steel from the village rising up.
  • Page Number: 6
It is going to be interesting how this looks in the end. If they plan to do any finishing touches or attempts to hide anything from the structure side. For example notice this new rock work. The top portion that will be visible from the park has mesh then below it nothing because it will be covered from that side.
More steel rising above the building.
  • Page Number: 7
A closer look at the structure in the village area.
A lot of steel in the foreground now.
  • Page Number: 8
Crews working on assembling the mesh on this section.
Looking toward Critter Country it appears most of the back fill is complete. I still see some black so maybe some more to come.
On the park side steel is being added to support a rock facade.
  • Page Number: 9
Upon closer inspection flags are marking the ground so maybe that is the top.
The wall nearest Critter Country looks complete, just needs final color.
  • Page Number: 10
Steel wrapping around the Battle Escape Building now for rock work support.
  • Page Number: 11
A closer look at the nearest peak.
The steel in the distance over the Millennium Falcon Building.
  • Page Number: 12
You cannot see much inside but looks like insulation is being added.
More wire mesh being lifted into place.
Steel rising over the top of the concrete building near the Battle Escape building.
  • Page Number: 13
A closer look at the building on the right. You can see pads where steel will be attached for the facade.
The stairs look just about complete.
Moving on to the Mickey and Friends Tram Stop. Here is an overview. You can see two new load zones marked off and ready to go. The new route appears to turn quickly and double back on itself.
  • Page Number: 14
A new ramp at the stop. Wonder if they will be loading the back of the tram or if the trams will be traveling the other direction on the new route.
The Pinocchio lot is now closed and demolition work has started.
A closer look. The light poles are down and some concrete removal has started.
  • Page Number: 15
A look across the lot from left to right.
Trees and landscaping have been removed. The toll booth is still out there though.
  • Page Number: 16
Crews working on removing a tree.
  • Page Number: 17
The fence along the tram route was also being worked on yesterday. When I left in the evening the top portion had been removed. So they are getting ready to move it.
Looking back to the left. The new temporary stops are more or less on the original two locations.
All the landscaping is being removed. As well as the curb.
  • Page Number: 18
The fence marks the current walkway.
    The Chip and Dale level.
  • Page Number: 19
The new tram route is starting to be marked off. In the distance you can see yellow indicating another stop.
The area on the right is left as it was. Wonder if this will be the tram parking area.
Work continues on the exterior of Splitsville

  • Page Number: 21
    Same with Naples.
World of Disney is now half closed. From the center doors to the right toward Starbucks is walled off for renovation. It is slated to be closed into July then the other half will be closed.
  • Page Number: 22
    Spring plantings in Downtown Disney.
  • Page Number: 23
Concept art for the new Naples is on the construction wall.
The World of Disney entrance closest to Starbucks.
  • Page Number: 24
No real visible progress on the Ballast Point.
    The Dress shop remains open.
  • Page Number: 25
D-Street kiosks now have plus and wands only.
  • Page Number: 26
Splitsville I think is official open and out of the soft opening phase. I did not see anyone upstairs though so that looked closed this afternoon.
  • Page Number: 27
A wall up outside but no other visible signs of progress.
The Disney Home Store opened since my last visit.
  • Page Number: 28
    Here is a look around.

  • Page Number: 32
Making my way back to visit the World of Disney.
Odd no cast member at the DVC kiosk.. and guests were looking for one (I overheard them asking the kiosk next door)
  • Page Number: 33
Heading inside through the center doors. To the right a wall.. to the left the open part of the store. They have it set up though so they can quickly switch it this summer.
    Walking into the open portion.
A new wall goes from floor to ceiling dividing the open portion from the renovation side.
  • Page Number: 34
  • Page Number: 35
The open side seemed to have more merchandise racks and felt crowded in spots.
  • Page Number: 36
A look around the open side as I walk through.
  • Page Number: 37
Some new merchandise near the door closest to La Brea Bakery.

And the spur line is now behind walls.
A closer look up Main Street.
  • Page Number: 44
Minnie greeting guests in Town Square.
  • Page Number: 45
Notice the Popcorn cart is not back yet.
The walls heading backstage. There is one crossing.
  • Page Number: 46
    Goofy was out too.
  • Page Number: 47
    Moving down to ground level.
It looks so open without the popcorn cart.
  • Page Number: 48
The one walkway through the fence on the spur line.
  • Page Number: 49
  • Page Number: 50
  • Page Number: 51
The walls are down in the hub too.
Spring blooms already, even though the weather was winter today.. high was just over 60 with a cold breeze.
  • Page Number: 52
    Disneyland waits at 2pm
  • Page Number: 53
    Looking toward Tomorrowland.
  • Page Number: 54
The partners statue in the hub.
  • Page Number: 55
A lot of guests in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle this afternoon.
  • Page Number: 56
Moving on to Adventureland. It was announced last week that Aladdin's Oasis will be removed and it will become a Tropical Hideaway.
  • Page Number: 57
The trees looked a little thin as I approached Indy.. not sure if it was angle/sun/trimming or if something changed.. but you could see the tree house fairly easily.
I hiked up the steps to get a view of Galaxy's Edge.
  • Page Number: 58
  • Page Number: 59
    New Orleans Square this afternoon.
Moana was meeting guests near the exit of the tree house.
    The queue for Moana.
  • Page Number: 60
A large crane onside for the Splash Mountain renovation project.
Both the Columbia and Mark Twain were in service today.

Looks like the new drop flume is being installed.
A check of the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge construction from the Mark Twain.
  • Page Number: 62
Crews working on the wire mesh installation this afternoon.
The first layer of concrete has been added to the top portion of this peak.
  • Page Number: 63
On the right you can see that small portion or wire mesh that was on the top of the steel pole that we saw from the parking structure.
Between the trees you can see the steel for the structure in the village that we saw the top of from the garage.
  • Page Number: 64
    A closer look.
  • Page Number: 65
This afternoon I did not see any open cracks in the fence on the Big Thunder Trail. Looks like they were all covered again. It would have been really nice to have a window or peep holes here like they have done on some previous projects over the years.
Walls still up at the Casey Jr station, but the Storybook Land Canal Boats have returned to service.
  • Page Number: 66
Scaffolding visible beyond the wall, but not much else with the Dumbo project.
A little of the new concrete is visible as the walls have been pushed back a bit to make a wider walkway.
The scaffolding is up on the area between Dumbo and Monstro.
  • Page Number: 67
The wait for the boats was long.. also found it funny I walked by and no boats in sight, but the line to my left was out into an extended area and wrapping.
Snow White and the Evil Queen were in Fantasyland.
  • Page Number: 68
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge from Toon Town.
  • Page Number: 69
  • Page Number: 70
No real visible change from ground level with the parade route project near small world.
Spring balloons are now available throughout the park featuring Thumper again
  • Page Number: 71
The Matterhorn from Tomorrowland Monorail station
The warning signs on the beamway looked new to me. I do not remember the Disneyland Monorail logo, but I may have just missed them/not noticed before.
    Splitsville from the Monorail.
  • Page Number: 72
Work on the tram route ramp. This one looks to be on the back/reverse side just like the one we saw at the structure.
Timing.. the beam is in my way!
  • Page Number: 73
Concrete is poured on a portion of the backstage road leading to the new parade gate. Here you can see the train passing by.
The next sections of the route look to be poured too, but not the park along the far side yet.
Guessing those posts will be for the new gate.. if so you can see how far back they are from the old location. This gives a larger space for the small world queue between the new concrete and the attraction. Wonder if stroller parking will be moved over here too. Hard to tell how big that area really.
  • Page Number: 74
The Storybook Land wait looks to be mostly back in its queue now but still long.
  • Page Number: 75
Tomorrowland was wide open this afternoon.. stroller parking was moved to the side.
    Passing back through the hub.
  • Page Number: 76
    Town Square.

Here you can see the Black Panther inside meeting guests.
  • Page Number: 79
You never know who you may bump into.. Captain America walking through the area.
The Food and Wine Festival begins next Friday (March 2). Marketplaces are now in place throughout the park.
  • Page Number: 80
Back to the Black Panther area.
  • Page Number: 81
    Preparing to leave.
On the move and I was not in a good place.
  • Page Number: 82
A video clip of the Black Panther leaving the area.
  • Page Number: 83
  • Page Number: 84
  • Page Number: 85
The News Boys ready to roll out for a performance.
Odd a trash can in front of the door for the Bakery Tour. The renovation sign is gone.
  • Page Number: 86
Turns out the Cafe and tour were closed due to some issue. Castmembers did not know or would not share what was going on and had no idea when they would reopen. Interesting to note the inside was closed and no bread on the cart outside nor on Buena Vista Street either.
Next stop the Pier to see how the Pixar Pier transformation is moving along.
Scaffolding now goes all the way up the main hill.
  • Page Number: 87
No real visible progress on the Fun Wheel from this distance.
The first hill you can see they are starting to enclose the tube.
  • Page Number: 88
A crane on site near the station.
The edges of the building are having some work done.
  • Page Number: 89
    The billboards are removed now.
As are the queue cover structures.
No real visible progress on the station building.
  • Page Number: 90
The launch area is still being rebuilt.
The Toy Story Buildings are going from red to blue it appears. (to mirror the change of the coaster from blue to red).
  • Page Number: 91
The tubes on the large hill are being enclosed behind the scaffolding.
Scaffolding up inside the tube too.
  • Page Number: 92
Back to the Toy Story building work.
The first hill from the Pier side.
  • Page Number: 93
    Moving around to Paradise Park
  • Page Number: 94
More Food and Wine marketplaces in Paradise Pier. Overall they seem to be in the same locations as the last several festivals.
  • Page Number: 95
  • Page Number: 96
Ghirardelli has switched to chocolate caramel bunnies now.
The benches are gone from under the swings.
A crane onsite on the Pier and some work starting on the facades.
  • Page Number: 97
This portion of the tube is enclosed now.
  • Page Number: 98
Here is a portion without scaffolding so you can see the enclosure.
Looks like the lights have been removed but no signs of a new paint color yet.
  • Page Number: 99
The scaffolding is final removed from this portion of the coaster track nearest the swings. It had been up for months.
It appears new platforms have been added along the track, assuming for emergency evacuations.
  • Page Number: 100
The underside of the hill is being painted red.
  • Page Number: 101
    The Ellis Island Boys performing.
The parade route gets rather narrow with the Marketplaces and construction wall.
  • Page Number: 102
A look at the rest of the Marketplace signs.
  • Page Number: 103
  • Page Number: 104
Back to Disneyland. The nightly Flag Retreat returned this evening. I missed it due to a scheduling conflict unfortunately...
  • Page Number: 105
If you were curious almost nothing is lit along the Rivers of America at night so this is all you see on the sweeping turn.
The art tables/kiosk have moved to the former smoking area under the monorail beam.
  • Page Number: 106
The former location has some benches, guessing to allow a place to eat as well as better flow for the FastPass area.
The churro cart in the hub now sells strawberry rose gold churros.. there were maybe a handful of guests in line. You could definitely smell the strawberry as you walked by.
  • Page Number: 107
    A strawberry rose gold churro
    Passing by the partners statue
Oops a little blurry.. but waits at 7:24pm
  • Page Number: 108
Lady and the Tramp is on home video again this upcoming week (digital now)
The opening in the spur line fence.
Passing by the board again.. wait times at 7:36pm given the cold temps and non holiday weekend these seemed on the high side to me.
  • Page Number: 109
Throughout the park the pressed penny machines are being replaced. The new ones have digital screens. This seemed a little out of place in Frontierland.
Silver Dollar Six performing before a full house at the Golden Horseshoe this evening as people were looking for a place to warm up.
The guests on the right are the line for food.
  • Page Number: 110
Walking by Aladdin's Oasis which will soon be removed.
As you enter Critter Country a crane is parked in front of Splash Mountain.
  • Page Number: 111
Work lights were on but no signs of work going on this evening.
An extended bench along the walkway in Critter Country.
  • Page Number: 112
Critter country was peaceful this evening. In a little over a year it most likely will never be like this once Star Wars opens.
Fantasmic dining package guests strollers have a nice view of Fantasmic in a roped off section. Also acted as a barrier between Standby and dining package.
My view for Fantasmic this evening. Found a spot on the waters edge, with less than 15 minutes till show time.
  • Page Number: 113
7 minutes until show time and there was plenty of stand by space. It ended up being about 3 deep in my immediate area and up near the trashcan in this picture it looked more full at show time.
Now some pictures from the show. The current Disneyland Fantasmic!
  • Page Number: 114
