  • Page Number: 1
Arrived at the Mickey and Friends parking structure just past noon with clearing skies.
No waits at the security tents (the Disneyland Drive entrance was closed, only the overpass was open)
  • Page Number: 2
Not very many cars in the preferred spots, but more than previous visits.
A video overview of the Star Wars Construction.
A quick look from the 5th floor before I head up to the roof.
  • Page Number: 3
From the roof a pan across the site, as normal starting on the left/north and working to the right. All traces of the large mound of dirt are now gone.. it is a parking lot for equipment.
A closer look at the lot. In the background notice a band getting ready for their pre-parade march.
The backstage building looks to be complete, notice the fall protection rails on the roof.
  • Page Number: 4
More pipes going in as site prep continues.
No real visible change here from this angle.
  • Page Number: 5
Looks like more dirt is coming to this section looking at the black.
On the right is the entrance tunnel from Fantasyland.
On the right here is the entrance tunnel from Frontierland and the backstage marina for Fantasmic.
  • Page Number: 6
Steel supports for the rock work being installed along the Rivers of America.
Here you can see some of the wire mesh frames for the rocks sticking above the wall.
  • Page Number: 7
  • Page Number: 8
Looking toward the canoe dock and Critter Country.
  • Page Number: 9
Bouncing back to the middle of the site.
A closer look at the steel.
Looking toward the trestle the trains will pass over.
  • Page Number: 10
Looking to the right, behind Critter Country, parallel to the tram route you can see they have put a layer of Asphalt down for the backstage perimeter road. Also looks like a parking lot off on the right through the trees.
Looks like some open areas of the road still to work on.
Tower of Terror is fully covered again.
  • Page Number: 11
The foundation work for the show building nearest the structure is moving along. You can see the outline for the building taking shape.
Another look at the parking lot area.
Spotted the Main Street Electrical Parade clock tower backstage.
  • Page Number: 12
    The Fantasyland entrance.
A closer look at where the train will come out from Critter Country. Soon I expect to see the support structure for the new bridge to start.
Hard to see the new walkway between the Hungry Bear and river now with the wall.
  • Page Number: 13
Looks like they are sealing the roof of the marina. Wonder if dirt/landscaping will go on top? I assumed it would be rock work.
The wall looks complete to the left of the Fantasyland tunnel now.
A wide look at the near lot.
  • Page Number: 14
Concrete has been poured in the basement portion of the show building.
From ground level you can see the new road

  • Page Number: 17
Still a little jarring to see the open Esplanade again.
No lines at the ticket booths this afternoon.
  • Page Number: 18
Starting to cloud up again... I saw a 5-20% chance of rain for most of the afternoon/evening when I checked before leaving home this morning.
    No wait to enter Disneyland
Looks more threatening this way (weather wise)
  • Page Number: 19
The band we saw backstage reached Town Square the same time I did.
Main Street had a fair number of guests heading into the park.
Wait times at 1:10pm were very light for this holiday week. Assuming the weather thinned the crowd, plus the higher ticket prices and more blockout dates.
  • Page Number: 20
Sleeping Beauty Castle has lights and screens for New Years.
  • Page Number: 21
Reserved seating for the parade gets a great straight on view with the Matterhorn as a backdrop.

Was hoping to be able to walk the Big Thunder Trail today, but unfortunately the park is not crowded enough for them to open it.. the one time I wanted a big crowd!
So instead a couple obstructed pictures of the work.
  • Page Number: 23
Here you can sort of see the fencing for the temporary walkway (also looks a little muddy).

  • Page Number: 43
I caught up with them in the hub.
But then ran into too much traffic to get in front again.
So followed them a bit to see if they were going to stop again (they did not)
  • Page Number: 44
I then went for an early dinner and when I came out everything was wet and it was drizzling a bit (this was around 4pm)
Walked through Frontierland. One of the unique Christmas decorations.
  • Page Number: 45
On the Rivers of America a stage was set up for New Years Eve festivities since the Island stage is still being worked on.
Not a lot of visible progress on the Columbia.
  • Page Number: 46
Making my way to Critter Country. The rock work is filling in along the train path and the Rivers of America.
  • Page Number: 47
Looking through the fence you can see the new walkway taking shape.
Off to the right looks to be a temporary ramp to the train right of way. Notice there is still a lot of conduit on the right.

The Main Street lights came on
  • Page Number: 56

  • Page Number: 61
Celebration Buttons were available at the Opera House today, not City Hall.
The parade stepped off at 4:30, only 15 min late, and ran without and dancers/performers on the street. Only the floats came out and they were packed a little closer together than normal as they headed up the parade route and back to their warehouse.
  • Page Number: 62
Surprised they did not put any rain gear on the characters. In Tokyo they have clear plastic they wear.
  • Page Number: 63
  • Page Number: 64
All the Princes and Princesses riding on the float this time, no one walking.
  • Page Number: 65
The rain picked up as the parade went on (I was under a tree and fairly dry).
  • Page Number: 66
  • Page Number: 67
No rope behind the parade and no guests wanting to follow along in the rain.

The lights went off for the intro but the Christmas ones stayed on.
  • Page Number: 77
Here comes the parade. All the lights went off except the Castle.

Stopped by Sleeping Beauty Castle to see if there would be a Wintertime Enchantment moment at 7:30, there was not.
  • Page Number: 85
A little dark, but there were three trashcans out in the middle of the walkway. Guessing for fireworks crowd control but right now it just seemed weird out in the dark.
    Small World Holiday
The projection show for Small World Holiday.

Even from here the castle projections were tough to see clearly.
