Let us start off with a video look around the Star Wars construction site from the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure
A wide shot of the site.
A pan from the left to the right. The large mound of dirt has shrunk but is still substantial.
  • Page Number: 2
Trucks are still hauling away dirt. In the distance the foundation for something appears to be taking shape.
The center of the site has a lot of equipment as utility installation is now underway.
The channel/forms through the middle of the site look more or less the same from this angle and distance as last week.
  • Page Number: 3
Looks like structures where the conduit and piping junctions and access points will be are now on site. Not sure what they are called (if anyone knows let me know).
  • Page Number: 4
The Hungry Bear and Critter Country beyond it.
Very hard to see but to the right of center in this picture is a parrot. As I was taking pictures this bird was make a lot of noise.
A closer look around the site. In the distance you can see the foundation for something taking shape. It may just be a wall to separate the project from backstage or maybe a retaining wall. Hard to tell from this distance.
  • Page Number: 5
Another look at the new structure
The train tunnel. To the upper right is where the Skyway building was. Notice the fence up there. I have a picture of it from in the park later.
  • Page Number: 6
Workers look to be assembling retaining walls or at least panels for something.
    Pipes are onsite awaiting installation.
  • Page Number: 7
A closer look at the access points/junction structures I talked about earlier.
    Conduit work is underway.
Another set of junction boxes/access points.
  • Page Number: 8
The far portion of the Hungry Bear
Could not tell what was going on here with the crates.
They are still moving dirt around off to the right behind Critter Country.
  • Page Number: 9
A wider view of the left hand/North side of the site.
Trucks being loaded with dirt to haul away. This is what is left of the front portion of the large mound.
A closer look at the structure on the far side. I am going to call it a wall for now.
  • Page Number: 10
The the area nearest the structure they are breaking up and removing asphalt. I could not tell where it came from.
  • Page Number: 11
Another picture of the large mound of dirt.
Looks like conduits are being installed.
Markers, glags, and conduit waiting to be used.
  • Page Number: 12
One last wide picture before moving on.
Noticed one survey person on the far mound of dirt. Also you can see what looks to be part of an old tunnel off to the right of the mound.
A team up on one of the fireworks platforms looking over the site. I would like to see a picture from there to get a different perspective on the project.
  • Page Number: 13
It looked like they were bringing dirt in to the area along the tramway and moving it around.
Looking through the fence from the tram
Only two attractions listed as closed today.
  • Page Number: 14
First stop Disney California Adventure. Buena Vista Street was calm.
Dory and Nemo apples at Trolley Treats
Wait times at 1:50pm Kind of interesting to notice that Toy Story and Racers were both 45 min with the Fun Wheel not far behind at 30.
  • Page Number: 15
More waits. Also notice the sign for Soarin has been updated this week and that is the longest posted wait again.
Walked over to grab a FastPass and the sign a the queue matched the board.
Over at GRR World of Color FastPassess are gone for the day since there is only one show. This sign about the return window for GRR was on all the machines to remind guests.
  • Page Number: 16
Chip and Dale were on the move to a photo location.
All quiet as I made my way to Cars Land.
One of my favorite views in the park.
  • Page Number: 17
    Some cactus were in bloom
My timing has been off for most of them this year though. These all look ready to bloom any day now.
Decided to give the single rider queue a try for Racers. Entered around 2:12pm.
  • Page Number: 18
Was in a car by 2:18
Random picture as I went through.
Doc did not prepare us for the race. He faced forward and was silent. Also the tractors did not tip.
  • Page Number: 19
Luigi and Guido did not talk to us either. We sat there for a few moments then the cars took off.
2:27pm was walking out. Noticed the single rider line now was much longer than when I entered.
Walked next store to check out the wait time for Luigis.
  • Page Number: 20
Posted at 10 minutes and I had half an hour till the band so decided to go for a spin.
    The queue was empty.
Next to ride at 2:46pm, so 15 minute wait until this point.
  • Page Number: 21

All quiet at the Frozen shop.

A healthy line for the Marvel characters.
    Quiet on the backlot
The signs at the bars are uncovered and I assume they are open in the evenings now.
  • Page Number: 24
    A look at the menu.
The other bar by the stage has the same menu.
  • Page Number: 25

    Main Street USA this afternoon
I have commented before but crowd pictures can be very misleading... here is a picture taken a few seconds after the previous and it can give a different impression of the crowd level.
  • Page Number: 30
    Wait times around 4:00pm
    A goose near Frontierland.
More geese were roaming around Frontierland.
  • Page Number: 31
Cast members were trying to guide them toward the water and keep them from getting run over or stepped on.
A look through the fence at the end of the Big Thunder Trail. Looks to be conduit work in the foreground and a wall going up in the background.
To the right of the last picture.
  • Page Number: 32
    Now to the left.
Doctor Facilier was having a hard time listening to the band on the Mark Twain (they were playing music from Princess and the Frog and not his song).
The band and singer performing on the second deck.
  • Page Number: 33
No visible progress on the island from this angle.

A check of Star Wars from here. The river is slowly taking shape.
  • Page Number: 35
Panning across the site from right to left.
  • Page Number: 36
Up on the second floor the far dining area was closed. Not sure if this is related to the construction or because of the lack of use. With all the chairs removed it was hard to tell.
  • Page Number: 37
An obstructed look through the mesh from my table as I ate dinner.
  • Page Number: 38
I mentioned the Hungry Bear was quiet. Here is a quick look around from left to right in the dining area. It was just after 5:00pm which should be a meal time.
  • Page Number: 39
No visible work going on at the fort.
    Disneyland Wait Times at 5:13pm
Time for the nightly Flag Retreat
  • Page Number: 40
My plan was to head back to DCA and use my FastPass for Soarin.
  • Page Number: 41
But on my arrival at 5:30pm the return line was backed up to the main walkway due to one theater being down again. Cast members said you could come back any time so I opted not to wait.
Instead I watched the Pixar Play Parade. Note it was coming from the Pier to Hollywood Land today. Guessing this change was due to Frozen show scheduling.
  • Page Number: 42
I was curious if they tweaked the Nemo section at all to promote Finding Dory.
    I found Dory.
  • Page Number: 43
I did not see anything from the new film.
Back to Disneyland around 6:00pm, Main Street was really calm.
  • Page Number: 44

Moving on to Fantasyland. Flags up on the site of the former Skyway building.
  • Page Number: 48
I mentioned a fence early in the construction pictures. I believe that is it in the background at the top of the hill. To give some perspective on it.
Random picture of Toontown as I walked through, nothing noteworthy going on.
    Passing by Tomorrowland.
  • Page Number: 49
Spring balloons are now summer balloons (same design just the calendar has changed)
I mentioned in an earlier picture set you can get the 60th popcorn buckets now with prepackaged popcorn.
Here is how it is sold.

7:15pm Train Station/Town Square performance of the All-American College Band.
  • Page Number: 51
This area in Fantasyland across from the Matterhorn is no longer a smoking area. It was very pleasant to walk through the area now. And depending on the breeze guessing those in line appreciate it too.
Smokers are directed to the Tomorrowland Train Station area.
  • Page Number: 52
So all is quiet in this area now.
One final performance by the All-American College Band on the parade route. The TA, Ricardo, was leading the band this evening.
  • Page Number: 53
They modified their routine from last week. They marched all the way to here and performed Uptown Funk.
Then stopped closer to the Cinema to perform Let it Go.
Making my way to DCA to use my Soarin FastPass before the park closes at 9pm.
  • Page Number: 54
One of my into the queue at 8:45pm
Both theaters were in operation and using a FastPass meant a minimal wait.
I was at the top of the final ramp and a cast member was looking for single riders (there is no separate queue). So I volunteered and was able to walk down and get a center section seat with only 5 minutes elapsing since I entered the queue.
  • Page Number: 55
Took this picture of the sign on my way out at 9:02pm. So only 15 minutes total time, I think that has to be one of my quickest visits to Soarin ever.
The park closed at 9pm so the wait times were all cleared out and ready for tomorrow.
Security lines to enter were backed up to the fountain as I was heading to Downtown Disney (and it was after 9pm).
