Came to a stand still waiting to enter the parking structure at 8:05am.
An overview of the Star Wars construction site on this cloudy morning. The backstage buildings on the left have been cleared.
  • Page Number: 2
Here is a pan across the site from left to right.
In the foreground the buildings that were removed this past week. The green fences mark a road connecting the two parts of backstage right now.
  • Page Number: 3
  • Page Number: 4
Beyond the buildings you can see the cleared berm near Critter Country.
  • Page Number: 5
It is now harder to see into the park, they put some trees behind the scaffolding and coffer dam.
Made it to the parks at 8:42am.. no line at security.
  • Page Number: 6
    The word of the day.
The closure list for the day.

Only 26 days until the Jungle Cruise returns and this skipper was excited.
The skipper schedule for the day.
Trees now obstructed most of the parking structure. I am assuming these are the ones they saved from the berm/island. A great place to store them and put them to use at the same time. A win win.

A closer look at the print on the screen.
First stop walked onto the Haunted Mansion.
  • Page Number: 11
Paused by the singing busts so took a picture.
A closer look at the print on the screen.
The views up river are getting more limited. Here is one of the few left from near the Canoes.
  • Page Number: 12
Critter Country was empty and I was waiting for the rest of my group so here are some pictures of the critter benches.
  • Page Number: 13
Decided to take a hike up the tree house to see what can be seen. A clear view backstage beyond Big Thunder.
  • Page Number: 14
Looking up river the other direction you can see the trees right behind the screen and the bare berm beyond.
Moving on to the far end of the Big Thunder trail.
More cleanup/removal in the Ranch area but not much else visible through the fence.
  • Page Number: 15
The tunnel and rockwork to the left looks to be staying put for the time being. Fences around it and all cleared up to it.
The artwork on the east dam.

A line for the Launch Bay?
  • Page Number: 19
Ahh it does not open until 10am and it was 9:59am only. We walked in with the crowd. Most went to the Meet and Greets and times jumped to 45 min waits for both.
From the ground hard to get a good look at the Autopia work.
Looks like the main display is gone from the entrance.
  • Page Number: 20
The skies were turning darker on us.. there was a 10-30% chance of rain in the forecast.
  • Page Number: 21
The Lilly Belle was not out today. Guessing with the rain they moved it back to the round house.
Hmm.. something going on. Looked like film crews around the tent.

  • Page Number: 26
No menu at the food truck today either.
Captain America and Spider-Man are on Sunset Blvd, where the Monsters University space was. There was a healthy line and no good angle to get them without waiting (and I did not have the patience to do that).
A look at some of the props.

Captain America heading off, to the left you can see Spider-Man
    Spider-Man

    DCA wait times at 10:55am
Stopped by the Blue Sky Cellar. No one outside selling passports today. Guessing due to the rain.
  • Page Number: 29
They were inside instead selling them. The line was a dozen or so guests long while we were there and it moved slowly.
Note the passport price has dropped from $45 last Friday. If you had your receipt, AP, and passport they were issuing refunds in the form of a festival gift card to those who paid the original higher price.
Also a good time to note they said they are now switching buttons on Mondays so Sunday was the same as the first Friday.

A final look at the remaining original rockwork and beyond it the Skyway building to wrap up this trip.
