Just arrived at the Disneyland Resort. A look from the parking structure toward where all signs are pointing the Star Wars project will be built at Disneyland.
I had no delays parking since the Ball Road flyover was open. Looks like regular traffic on Disneyland Drive is backed up though.
Arriving at the Tram stop in Downtown Disney, the Aladdin Home Video release and Inside Out are being advertised.

Walking by World of Disney.. I thought the Made with Magic Window was more interesting than this 60th one..
A couple of attractions down during this brief off season time between summer and Halloween.
The word of the day Friday.

Work is still going on in the Esplanade. Trees have re-appeared in the boxes.
Across on the East side no changes yet.
  • Page Number: 4
Would be nice if as part of the expansion they fix up the Esplanade and make the security tents permanent structures.
First stop today, Disney California Adventure
Hmm.. was hoping to find a nearly empty street with the time of year and heat.. but a fair number of guests moving around Buena Vista Street today.

  • Page Number: 6
Looks like the work on the Grand Californian has wrapped up.
As of 1:30pm they were still distributing blue section FastPasses for World of Color. Guess the park is not that crowded.
Passing by the 60th Photo spot for Grizzly Peak

Some work going on as you enter Paradise Pier
Looks like they are working on the joint between the pavement and boardwalk. This is the original on the open side of the walkway.

    No Mr. Potato Head today.
  • Page Number: 11
Toy Story had a posted 30 min wait but in the nearly 100 degree weather it probably felt longer.
Not sure if I posted any pictures of the lights installed on Screamin for World of Color.

Back on the ground some barriers up at the Toy Story Meet and Greet
Guess the fountains in Paradise Park are not going to return. You would think if they were the 100 degree weather is the perfect time to run them.
  • Page Number: 16
Making my way into Cars Land. The Racers were down so it was quiet.
Spotted a flower today.. not in a good spot or really open.
    Almost another..
  • Page Number: 17
The front doors of Sarges were closed.. maybe because of the heat?
The six and final Disneyland 60 Diamond Photo Spot opened since my last visit. It is near the entrance to Fliks Fun Faire in Bugsland.

    The News Boys rolling by.
Still so odd how they do FastPass for the Frozen Meet and Greet.. no signs or cast members today. Just a cart along Hollywood Blvd.
Walked through Elias and Co and the Five and Dime as I exited. Here is some of the Halloween Merchandise.

The Disneyland Band marching into Frontierland. They skipped the Flag Pole stop because of the heat and played an abbreviated set.
Before following the band.. a look at the work between Fantasy Faire and Frontierland... no visible progress
  • Page Number: 26
The Disneyland Band in front of the Golden Horseshoe.
Because of the low crowd the Columbia was not in service today.
Some work going on along the walkway. This is where the Meet and Greets sometimes are. Wonder if it is prep work for a queue? Or just general work? Or something to do with Fantasmic?
  • Page Number: 27
You could not really tell anything through the mesh this afternoon.
The Haunted Mansion is closed for the Holiday transformation until September 11th.
  • Page Number: 28
The Photo Spot is still open though. No wait this afternoon.
The park area was nice and quiet thanks to the Mansion being closed.

During the D23 Expo a few weeks ago the house of Patrick Begorra the Little Man of Disneyland magically re-appeared at Disneyland. It is located at the base of the tree that supports the sign for the Indiana Jones Adventure.
Here are a couple shots. There were strollers and guests in my way.. I will circle back.

The heat shortened the Peter Pan line a little.. but it was still pushing 45 min and in the direct sun.
Walked around the Big Thunder Trail and Ranch area a bit since this area is reported to be closing to make way for Star Wars come the new year.
  • Page Number: 36
Wonder if the cabin will find a new location or if it will be lost as part of the project.

After the retreat boarded a train to Toontown a look around the station as I waited.
  • Page Number: 48
    My ride arriving.
Not much happening in Toontown. If current internet speculation is to be believed Toontown has been spared and will remain. (it was rumored Star Wars was going to take that land too).
  • Page Number: 49

  • Page Number: 64
I worked my way up Main Street to the hub and decided to stake out a spot in front of the castle this evening. This was about 7:50pm, an hour before Paint the Night and 100 min before Disneyland Forever. The CM said it was a standing area so I found a spot behind an ECV and stroller.
A nearly full moon rising over Tomorrowland as I waited.
    Projector alignment testing going on.
  • Page Number: 65
As the Paint the Night Introduction plays Sleeping Beauty Castle puts on a small show with lights. Here is a video clip of it.
  • Page Number: 66
From where I was you could see the parade ok if you were standing.
  • Page Number: 67
The projectors came to live several minutes before showtime.
  • Page Number: 68
At this point cast members informed us we were in a sitting area and everyone had to be seated. This meant my clear view of the castle became a challenge between the ECV and stroller.. oops.
Show time. Here is a video clip from the opening of Disneyland Forever.
    Tangled...
  • Page Number: 69
    Winnie the Pooh
    The Lion King
