    Arrived at the Disneyland Resort and was on my way to the park around 6:45am. Selfie Stick ban signs at the top of the escalators.
    The Mickey and Friends Tram stop looks quiet. Parking was a breeze.. pulled right up to a tollbooth and then was directed to a spot a dozen or so cars from the escalators.
    World of Disney was open and Cast Members out greeting guests as they arrived.

    Plenty of photo ops to mark the day in Downtown Disney and in both parks throughout the day.
    A steady stream of guests for 7am but no big crowd yet, I kept expecting to walk around a corner and run into a mob.

    The World of the Day signs are now all digital. Also note nothing listed as closed.
    After entering they were handing out commemorative newspapers from the Orange County Register.

    Entered the park just after 7am.
    A couple radio stations were broadcasting live this morning from the Train Station.

    LCD screens up throughout the park and in DCA to broadcast the ceremony as well as tweets throughout the day.

    In the background you can see chairs and a stage set up for the ceremony at 10am this morning.
    A new Mickey Quest game debuted yesterday. Here is a picture of the map, lanyard, and prize for completion. They were distributing all three when you purchased it to avoid redemption lines later.

    Guests already claiming their spots for the 10am ceremony. I opted to walk the park first.

    Most attractions were open and walk ons right now. The scheduled opening time of the park was 8am so this was bonus time :)

    Do not remember if I posted pics of the stroller parking signs in New Orleans before.. guess they could add ECV to it too.

    There are new Made with Magic Chernabog sippers available at several locations for $28 including a beverage inside. A couple dollars cheaper if you do not want a drink.

    A new Diamond Celebration Photo Spot has opened near the exit of the Haunted Mansion.
    A better look at the location. This is the last one for Disneyland. One more is left to open in DCA Bugs Land.
    Big Thunder was doing pre-opening checks as I walked by.

    A light set up along the Big Thunder Trail for the celebration. These marked the way to Cup Cake distribution locations.
    There were a half dozen 1955 photo spots set up for the 60th today. The first I encountered was on the Big Thunder Trail and featured a Stagecoach.
    Guests were in line for free cupcakes already and they blocked the coach. I will circle back later. This was about 7:45am. Cupcake distribution started at 8am.

    Peter Pan on the other hand was over an hour with a full queue and extended queue.

    In Tomorrowland spotted a worker at Innoventions. They are closing it back up now. Still no official announcement of what is coming... but leading internet speculation is a larger Marvel presence upstairs and Star Wars downstairs.

    The Magic Eye Theatre was very popular this morning. It was another cupcake distribution location.
    The line here stretched for quite a distance. It was moving quickly but seems a lot of guests opted for the short walk to Tomorrowland over the other two locations.

    Still fiddling with the Piano, it was around 8:30am.
    Main Street USA still busy.
    I decided to find a spot for the ceremony. Ended up on the west side across from the Frontierland entrance.

    To my left I could see the Frontierland LCD screen
    With the long lens I could see the stage and piano.
    I also happened to be along the walkway the invited guests were using to enter. Here is Marty Sklar arriving.

    The sun burned through by 9am so the last hour of waiting got rather warm with no cloud cover.
    At 10am the event started and thanks to the sun my backup plan of using the screen was washed out.
    Michael Colglazier, president of Disneyland Resort, opened the ceremony.

    I almost got a good picture of everyone on the stage right after they sang Happy Birthday.
    Disney released a series of clips from the ceremony. Here is there video to see what it really looked like.

    Wandered into Frontierland. A band up on the balcony performing. They were not listed anywhere so not sure if this was just for the 60th or if it is regular park entertainment.

    They were distributing cupcakes in the Jamboree area. I walked out to see if anything else was going on out there.
    They had queue tape set up but no need since it was not busy right now.

    Inside they had the same opening day Disneyland map. I was really hoping for a parking lot map after seeing the photo spot I thought that would have been awesome :)

    Today a new version of the Disneyland Band debuted. The old band was retired. The new one is much more in the mold of the All-American College Band and the bands in the Asian parks.

    The Stage Door Cafe line stretched all the way to the Golden Horseshoe entrance.
    Out in Critter Country across from the entrance to Splash Mountain was the last photo spot, this one featuring the Mine Train.

    Walked by the Haunted Mansion Photo op and saw no line.. then looked further and the old Splash Mountain FastPass area was a full queue for the photo spot.

    Disneyland waits around 1:30pm. Fairly moderate except for Peter Pan and Splash.
    The New Disneyland Band performs two sets in Frontierland at 1:45pm and 3:05pm Here the band is arriving.

    The former Maliboomer area was another cupcake distribution area. Plenty of cupcakes and cast members again. This time they were offering you one for each hand since they had so many left still.

    Radiator Springs had a posted 45 minute wait only. I opted for single rider and there was no wait.. almost a literal walk on. Had to pause for a few seconds waiting for the CM to tell me which row to go to.
