  • Page Number: 1
You can definitely tell it is off season by the list of closures.
Work continues on the stroller/kennel building facade.
Big Hero 6 poster is still up.
  • Page Number: 2
    Main Street USA this afternoon
The last shot was off center because a horse was coming up behind me
    The waits around 1:15pm
  • Page Number: 3
No scaffolding yet.. but the castle walkway is blocked and moat is drained. Soon this will be covered.
A couple signs with some info about the Castle on them.
  • Page Number: 4
The current state of the moat. A little water still in it.
  • Page Number: 5
Nothing appears to be going on behind the wall.
The West side of the moat.
  • Page Number: 6
A sign to help you find Fantasyland.
  • Page Number: 7
A couple random Castle pictures before it gets covered up.
  • Page Number: 8
  • Page Number: 9
The back side of the Castle is walled off and the east/Tomorrowland walkway is closed too.
The line for Peter Pan looked short. It was posted at 30 minutes.
So I decided to go for a flight before it closed for refurbishment.
  • Page Number: 10
    Fantasyland was peaceful this afternoon
    Almost there...
  • Page Number: 11
  • Page Number: 12
I did not realize the gold ship from the 50th was still in service. I thought they would have repainted it by now.
Here is a video of my flight to Neverland. It took about 20 minutes from when I approached till I was exiting.
Next up a trip aboard the Monorail. Here I am passing over Hollywood Land at DCA.
  • Page Number: 13
    Buena Vista Street
The reason for the trip.. Condor Flats. All the concrete near Taste Pilots has been removed.
And a lot of the concrete in front of Soarin is gone too.
  • Page Number: 14
  • Page Number: 15
The trees behind the billboard are gone. But as of now looks like the billboard is staying.
The Apricot Lane Boutique is closed.. forgot to mention that last week when I walked by.
Downtown Disney was quiet this afternoon too.
  • Page Number: 16
Passing over the main entrance to Disneyland
No real visible progress at the Matterhorn.
  • Page Number: 17
The white tarps now have a photo of the Small World Facade on them and the clock tower is covered.
The attraction is still open through the weekend then closes.
  • Page Number: 18
I decided to go for one last cruise of the season. There was no wait. The boat in front of me was empty and I had my own.
  • Page Number: 19
  • Page Number: 20
  • Page Number: 21
    Pulling into a quiet station
Walked by the ranch and the Jamboree area is closed with no events right now.
Even on a quiet day by mid afternoon your free FastPass option was for the 10:45pm Fantasmic.
  • Page Number: 22
    The Rivers of America
The La Masquerade store is currently closed for some work.
The Haunted Mansion opened a day early.
  • Page Number: 23
    No waits this afternoon.
Nothing jumped out at me as changed except one addition as you leave the attic scene (more on it later as I attempted to capture a picture)
  • Page Number: 24
Madam Leota was not floating around yet, as seems to be the norm with the change over each year.
  • Page Number: 25
  • Page Number: 26
Next up a trip aboard the Mark Twain. Frontierland as we are pulling out of port.
A fair number of Cast Members preparing the River Belle Terrace for Fantasmic dinner guests.
  • Page Number: 27
A series of pictures as we cruised by New Orleans Square.
  • Page Number: 28
Splash Mountain is drained and closed for the annual refurbishment
Scaffolding up at the Hungry Bear (all of Critter Country is closed)
The beige barrier is what flanks the train tracks.
  • Page Number: 29
The barriers mark a walkway for cast members to go through the construction areas.
Even though the entire land is closed walls are still up at the entrance to the hungry bear. Guess to keep cast members out and if the area had to be used as an emergency exit.
  • Page Number: 30
Work on the Briar Patch facade
A better look at the Hungry Bear. It appears the cover for one of the seating areas is being redone plus the facade.
  • Page Number: 31
The poles are for the tables.
  • Page Number: 32
  • Page Number: 33
Not much happening at the canoe dock.
A couple pictures as the cruise went on.
  • Page Number: 34
    The moose need a bath.
Walked through Tomorrowland. Here is the Star Traders Droid of the Day.
  • Page Number: 35
The Big Hero 6 Meet and Greet is gone and some arcade games are back in the Starcade
  • Page Number: 36
Mickey and Minnie were greeting guests in Tomorrowland.
No visible changes to the Magic Eye Theatre.. Big Hero 6 signage is still up.
  • Page Number: 37
Walking right down the middle of Main Street USA
    Stopped by the Market House
There are now Disney Parks/Starbucks tumblers and mugs available.
  • Page Number: 38
A look at the two sides of the tumbler
The You Are Here Collection mug. They are specific to each park. (No Downtown Disney that has the generic California Mug as of last check).
They were limiting the mugs due to popularity to 5 per item.
  • Page Number: 39
Only one item on the center/specials board.
  • Page Number: 40
As I was walking out the Frozen pre-parade was making its way up Main Street so stopped for a couple pictures
Over at DCA here is the Starbucks mug available on Buena Vista Street at the Cafe
  • Page Number: 41
The rockwork at the entrance to Condor Flats has been marked.. demolition is coming soon it looks like.
    More markings.
  • Page Number: 42
    Looking into Condor Flats
    The DCA waits around 4:15pm
The Bugs Theater is closed for refurbishment too. So right now there are no 3D films with all three theaters closed or re-purposed. No word yet on what is going on with Bugs or Magic Eye but best bet is more film previews are coming. I would like to see something for the 60th.
  • Page Number: 43
Route 66 as I strolled by.
The walls are down and new signs, awnings, and a car at the Bakery Tour.
Can anyone tell the year of the old Ford parked out front?
  • Page Number: 44
A closer look at the truck
    A look inside.
  • Page Number: 45
The old entrance (I say that because unclear if this is an entrance/exit or both now).
A closer look at the new sign.
  • Page Number: 46
Here is why I said it is unclear.. the arrow points to the old exit.
The same Bakery Tour sign over this doorway.
  • Page Number: 47
    A closer look
Grizzly River Run is closed for annual refurbishment
  • Page Number: 48
  • Page Number: 49
Looks like parts of the queue are being rebuilt
Redwood Creek is still closed too.
Railings being replaced in Redwood Creek
  • Page Number: 50
Most of the water is now gone from Paradise Bay. Here is alook around as I circled the Pier.
Some of the hoses on the far right and in the middle appear to be what they are using to wash down and suck up the muck.
    Some of the muck...
  • Page Number: 51
A look out on the platform.
Interesting, they have covered the cable runs. Guess to protect them as they are cleaning?
  • Page Number: 52
There are tarps up at the Cove Bar and Ariels dining area so you do not look at the drained lagoon/work while eating. Also guessing to keep the dust/grim at bay.
  • Page Number: 53
    The old wave machine
A couple panels were pushed out. Wonder if it will finally get removed this renovation.
    Continuing around the bay.
  • Page Number: 54
Pumps on the far side were on this evening.
    Some of the remaining water.
  • Page Number: 55
Some of the ballast tanks that are used to float the platforms need to be re-attached.
  • Page Number: 56
Decided to try a burger at the Paradise Grill. The good news was a lot of french fries. The bad news both the fries and burger were luke warm nor fresh really.
The Ellis Island Boys were playing so good dining entertainment.
  • Page Number: 57
The sound tech was next to me. They use a tablet to control the audio for the shows.
After dinner wrapped up my loop of the Pier walking through Paradise Park.
  • Page Number: 58
    Walking into Cars Land.
The moon was a little too high and small.. but the spec at the top is it.
A tire was missing on the left.
  • Page Number: 59
The wait was only one cycle, so a couple minutes.
So went for a flight on the tires.
  • Page Number: 60
The bakery sign lit up this evening.
    The entrance/exit
The car headlights are on at night.
  • Page Number: 61
  • Page Number: 62
    Disneyland waits around 6:00pm
The Mark Twain in dock on the Rivers of America.
Well my pictures of the new window at the exit to the attic in the Haunted Mansion came out poorly. This is the best of the bunch. You can see what looks like a bat matching the queue design in the window. It appears to be very temporary to me (if not it is really cheap looking).
  • Page Number: 63
My doom buggy stopped right in front of the signing busts.
Here is a video clip while I waited to resume my voyage.
The garden and Small World mall Christmas lights were still on this evening.
  • Page Number: 64
The audio on the Disneyland Railroad has been upgraded. Here is a video clip passing through the Grand Canyon and Primeval World dioramas.
Soundsational was passing by when the train pulled into Main Street Station. Noticed Tinkerbell was MIA
A closer look. I heard she was there for the earlier parade.
  • Page Number: 65
Back to DCA and Freeze the Night. Olaf was present again in ice form.
The ice breakers, our hosts, and DJ.
The block/play area seemed to be brighter this evening.
  • Page Number: 66
    Marshmallow
    Stopped by the Snow Fest
Healthy snacks that I did not grab a picture of last trip.
  • Page Number: 67
I was taking pictures then called by a friend who had just arrived and learned there was a short standby line for the Frozen sisters and said they were taking their daughter and invited me.
So I went over and we waited less than 10 minutes to enter the Character Close Up area.
The hallway leading back to the Meet and Greet rooms
  • Page Number: 68
    Several doors along the walkway
We were let into one on the left which was the room in the center.
  • Page Number: 69
A wide view of the room while the group in front of us wrapped up. Only Elsa was present this evening.
    The back of the room
Elsa posing for some other guests
  • Page Number: 70
    Another picture of Elsa
Well three weeks stopping by Freeze the night and I seem to only see Olaf and a star ice sculpture.
No Aladdin shows today, instead a special Yamaha event in the Hyperion.
  • Page Number: 71
The Suburban Legends were performing at the Tomorrowland Terrace
To close out some pictures of Fantasy in the Sky taken from the hub
  • Page Number: 72
A couple video clips of Fantasy in the Sky
The crowd on Main Street as I made my way to the exit to head for home.
